I love this.

I usually just make a squiggly line, but no more.
LOL. Me too. Has anyone ever had their signature questioned on one of these things?
In the memo line on checks I always write, "Thanks for the sex" ...or "For Abortions"

That's spectacular.

A friend of mine once had late fees that he disputed from a video store. When he finally got around to paying them, he wrote a check- for $3 in late fees- and wrote "For bullsh*t late fees" in the memo line. They told him to never come back.

This is the same friend that asked for a burger without tomatoes from Burger King. When he found a tomato on it, he drove back through the drive through and flung the tomato back through the window.

In an awesome twist of fate, his face happens to resemble Lou Ferrigno's face.

I don't even care about politics, but the debates are fun!
He could have expressed it differently to not stir the pot so much, but just skimming it I can't really find anything I blatantly disagree with to be honest.

Agreed. Change the tone and it's a fairly non-scary reading of American culture and why some blacks feel like they still aren't getting a fair shake.

This is sort of interesting - McCain now says he would fire SEC chief - Christopher Cox .

http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5iE2J ... QD9398KU80

Here's why its interesting. Cox was an arch-conservative poster boy congressman from OC California. about as partisan an appointee as they get. anti-tax, deregulate everything, and privatize sort of guy. He's got a 98% lifetime rating from the American Conservative Union. He was appointed to office by Bush to oversee regulation of the SEC. nothing like having another fox guard the hen house eh?

At one point, Cox was rumored to be a leading candidate for McCain's VP.

there are 3 dons of the US economy Fed -Bernanke, Treasury-Paulson, and SEC - Cox. Cox is the one getting the most criticism amidst this financial crisis. There was a failure to regulate - and this was Cox's job. SEC is to oversee that the public receives accurate information on the financial status of companies and investments. when all these bad mortgages were packaged and sold as investments, they received stellar bond gradings. Balance sheets of financial companies were way overstated. according to reports, Cox has been absent (physically, not figuratively) from meetings with the other dons on handling the financial crisis.

Is McCain reading the polls and beefing up effort to distance himself from Bush?

Is McCain trying to flip-flop on yet another issue - deregulation?

Anyway. I do give McCain points for calling this Cox arse out.
It's also possibly interesting because, according to Olbermann, the constitution doesn't allow a president can't fire the SEC chief. I'd prefer a separate source to confirm that, however.

He's right.

McCain is trying to say that there's precedent and points to Harvey Pitt -- who resigned in 2002. The president can request that he resign, but it doesn't appear that he can just dump him. The president doesn't even get final say over the chairman of such a position, so I'm not sure why McCain thinks he can fire him.

I have to think this financial stuff seals the deal for Obama. Bush seems to have really screwed the pooch on this.
