"Death had to take him sleeping, for if Roosevelt had been awake there would have been a fight."

Interesting that the Democrats used McCain's name three times as much as the Republicans used Obama's name in their respective conventions. Democrats also used "September 11" twice as much as Republicans.TimeForGuinness wrote:Cool link about the words used at the conventions: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2008 ... APHIC.html
Maybe some people are only hearing what they want to hear?

It's politics. You're predisposed to ignore anything that might make you party look bad and everything that might make the other party look good.BenNX74205 wrote:Interesting that the Democrats used McCain's name three times as much as the Republicans used Obama's name in their respective conventions. Why can't the McCain camp run their campaign as they see fit?GatewaySnayke wrote:She was in St. Louis and the Gulf last Saturday. Then she was secluded until Wednesday night. Today she was out stumping, now it appears she's going back to Alaska. I don't think this past week counts as being out on the trail.ghostrunner wrote:She's been on the trail already from what I've been watching.GatewaySnayke wrote:If they have to prepare her to get their opinions in line, then that pretty much proves that she wasn't vetted. After Biden was named VP candidate, he hit the trail. He's been on the trail since the convention. And 15 days after being named VP candidate, he's going to be on "Meet the Press."ghostrunner wrote:It's not that weird. She's been with the campaign for 5 days or so. VP's don't automatically agree with the candidate, so they'll be taking time to square her opinions with McCain's and phrase them in a way that doesn't come off false. They'll want to do that before she does any lengthy interviews.
Does anyone think Sarah Palin's going to be on MTP next Sunday?
VPs don't agree with their partners. It's not about vetting. Either they change their stated opinion, or they're coached on how to talk around it. Let's ask Biden why he now thinks Obama is ready. I wonder how closely Gore and Lieberman were aligned. Or Kerry and Edwards. Bush Sr. called Reagan's economic plan "voodoo economics" before he was his running mate.
And it's not like they are going to be vetting her now...that's not what I'm saying. But Joe Biden didn't disappear to Delaware and refuse to speak to the media a week after he was picked.

Heck no...there are no "blind" supporters to either party.BenNX74205 wrote:Interesting that the Democrats used McCain's name three times as much as the Republicans used Obama's name in their respective conventions.
