Yup. Some posters can't control themselves.

I've been quite thoughtful. And charming.

You're about as charming as a rubber crutch.

I actually think I hate the Democratic platform more every single day.
Of the 33 top polls, McCain is ahead in 3 as of today.

The POW thing is mentioned because it shaped him and because it puts him in the light of having formed his decision while being sympathetic to the tragedies of war. This isn't some favored son who's never faced horror and atrocity. Whether you agree with him or not, you do have to acknowledge that he has an understanding of the horror of war. That's why it is constantly highlighted.
Obama growing up as a black man in America probably had a great deal to do with shaping him. He's certainly not playing that card....... not once. Why? Because he doesn't stand to gain politically from it. McCain stands to gain political leverege from being a POW.
You really cannot compare these two things to each other.

Why can't you?

This is a political thread. This much was to be expected. I like the passion and thus far with as heated as it has gotten, I don't think it has really gotten out of hand. That's just my opinion though.

Don't get sucked into his charming persona, Michael. Anyone who knows sigh, knows he's a rabble rouser. He should be banned.

Allow me to try to be objective:

It went on too long, I think he lost a lot of people at home, it isn't going to strike as well with Independents as he needs. It was a "Big speech" platform, not his best setting and at best he hit a double. No more, no less. Sorry if that's too LIBRUL.

We must stop Czar Putin!
I'm opposed to the eye roll icon, but this is where I would use it.
Are you mocking me or McCain?
You, but only because I'm safe behind my computer screen where I don't have to face the consequences. :) I was just implying that Russia has been in recent history, and still is a legitimate threat.
Sure, but the Russian Empire? I can see them wanting to go back to being a communist or fascist country, but a two-week skirmish against Georgia isn't evidence enough of them re-starting the Empire.
