Talk is the reason Obama is where he is. He talks well. That's it. That's what he has to hang his hat on. That's why people like him.

He'd make a great preacher or motivational speaker. At least he has a future.
And McCain's reason for where he is is...?

He's a POW. Maybe you haven't heard.
Well let's put it this way folks, and I know this is (thankfully) not how it works..

If you had McCain, the POW, and Obama, the community organizer, and that's all you knew about them...which would you vote for?

Point being, I'd rather McCain have POW on his resume then what Obama has on his
This question couldn't be more pointless.
No, the point is clearly that while democrats may be hating on the POW crap, it's a huge part of his life..
Did you see the Democratic convention? Every single speaker talked about their admiration for his service to his country.

Well, I'd hope he and you know...every single politician ever talk well.

What is this supposed to even mean?
That that's his single most endearing quality?

Which, is true
Umm, OK.

When was the last time we had a president whose speech wasn't their most "endearing quality"?

So you've bought into the Republican notion that Obama's 16 years of service are meaningless?

Motivation is a good thing, especially when you believe in what you're preaching.
I haven't bought into anyone's notion. I guess being a state senator is nice and all. And most of his work as a U.S. Senator is running for president. When you speak well, sometimes you get places. Obviously.

16 years of "service". I guess you've bought into the liberal media.

I'm glad he believes in what he's preaching. I'd rather someone believe in what they say, even when they're wrong, than to lie. I'm just not buying what he's preaching.

Not a word.

But you buy what McCain is preaching? That he respects Obama, but it's OK if his colleagues mock him for two days straight?
Wow. That's all you got?

So by using your logic, if my co-workers hate my boss, but I like my boss, I'm a hypocrite?

It's a dumbed down example, but an example nonetheless..just because his colleagues are mocking Obama doesn't mean a damn thing in what John McCain does or does not say about the man

Get off it already

For you. Not for me. I couldn't care less how great an orator he or any other politician is, I care about his positions on issues. Of course I want the president to be able to pronounce the words he is saying and be able to speak intelligently on issues without relying on cue cards, but aside from that relatively low hurdle, it's what they say that counts, not how.
