I'm sorry. I just think it's absolutely insane to use 9/11 as a speaking point. It's wrong. And everyone should be passionate about it.

I think it's one thing to distort someone's record. It's another thing to make them out to be something they're not(Muslim, etc.) But to exploit the people that died on 9/11 as a tactic to gain votes and scare people into voting for your party is absolutely disgusting and.. I don't even have a word for it.

I admit openly I have a passion about this stuff. Because sometimes, you need common decency to prevail every once in a while in order to be instilled with faith for your future.

All this banter sometimes frustrates me, especially when its sleighted against my candidate - Obama .

...but one thing I keep reminding myself - Obama AND McCain are both more moderate than depicted currently. Both are sucked into this partisan election stuff which includes pandering to their base. I've never agreed with McCain nor Obama on all issues. I need to remember I actually was an admirer of McCain before this whole process started. My problem with McCain is probably less with him and more with the type of people that support him.

Point is - be happy - whoever we get for Prez next January will be a huge improvement.

Meh.. McCain is not an improvement over Bush. If not a downgrade, he's the same exact thing we've had for 8 years.

On another note
One of the most enduring taboos in American politics, the airing of graphic images from the September 11 attacks in a partisan context, died today. It was nearly seven years old.

The informal prohibition, which had been occasionally threatened by political ads in recent years, was pronounced dead at approximately 7:40 CST, when a video aired before delegates at the Republican National Convention included slow-motion footage of a plane striking the World Trade Center, the towers' subsequent collapse, and smoke emerging from the Pentagon.

are you serious? McCain is no Bush. Sure, some of his maverick status is BS. but I'm hoping a lot of his new rhetoric is just pandering to the base. I can't imagine he'd have someone like a Karl Rove in the white house telling him what to do.

I absolutely can believe that he'd have a Rove in the White House. His pick wasn't even originally Palin. It was Lieberman. They influenced him otherwise. He wants to wipe the Islamic religion off of the map. He wants blood out of Iran. And to repeat a DNC talking point, he's voted with Bush 90% of the time. He's admitted he knows absolutely nothing about the economy. I don't know what is so different about John McCain.

It's one of the most violent and shocking days in the history of the country, and something like it could easily happen again. A President's philosophy on how it should be handled or prevented is important. I'm not saying you have to agree with McCain, but obviously most Republicans have strong feelings about it and still think it merits discussion. I don't know who you are to say otherwise. You may be sick of it but that's your problem, not theirs.

On another note, has anyone ever seen Cindy McCain out in the daytime?

you have some points. but ... I wonder what % of the time Biden has voted with Bush. I'm guessing well above half the time. And saying McCain wants to wipe Islam off the map? cmon dude.

I read McCain's book years ago. He didn't strike me as a fanatic. seemed level-headed, and even self-effacing at times. What he and other POWs endured in Hanoi Hilton was pretty moving and courageous. ** What was Bush doing during this time? I don't think McCain will stand for US torturing POWs.

There's a reason Limbaugh Hannity and all those clowns didn't like McCain until recently,,, and it wasn't because they think he's another Bush.

**McCains Vietnam experience is moving, but I sometimes worry he's still trying to win the Vietnam War - only its now called Iraq.
