politicians never give up money

what they need is for someone to go through the budget and be vicious...but neither candidate will do that...too many people are making too much money off of it.
Would a line item veto be a good tool for a President to have?
I think the people should have a line item veto...lol.
You have my vote!
TFG for President!!!!!

I've read them.
Intensify Civil Rights laws? His plan won't work. Affirmative Action didn't work. Sorry, hate crimes laws don't work.
His job creation ideas, are socialistic. It won't work.
Universal Health Care? Great, Great idea, but it won't work. He did it in IL? By cutting it off for some still below pverty folks. I don't see an answer to this either.
Sternthen families? The one place government assitance shouldn't be needed.
Strenghten are global respectability? How by "talking out issues"? It's tough, and I'm against the war in Iraq, but realize sometimes talk isn't enough.

Oh, this one's great, from his website:
Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: Obama will make progress on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict a key diplomatic priority. He will make a sustained push – working with Israelis and Palestinians – to achieve the goal of two states, a Jewish state in Israel and a Palestinian state, living side by side in peace and security.
That's hopeless if there ever was such a thing.

Like I said, I didn't expect you to be satisfied with his answers. But don't say that he doesn't have a plan. If you want to say his plan won't work, that's one thing. That's an opinion. Saying that he doesn't have a plan is a false statement. That problem is that there aren't really an "McCain supporters" there are only Obama critics.

If you prefer to live without hope that our nation is doomed, then that's certainly your perogative. I choose to believe that we (with Obama as our leader) can move in a positive direction.

This is an excellent point, PP. Anyone remember the privatization of SS plan? Rolling Stone brought this up: Republicans were actually convincing people to finance their own impovershment.

this thread is great. Sometime when I have 25 straight hours, I'll have to read through it all :) I certainly don't have as strong viewpoints as some on here - will be voting for the mccain/palin ticket, though.

nearing the 2,000 post on this thread, eh?

I agree there are a lot of people that are against Obama. But I think it's because so much of our nation, and our media has been swept up in an Obama love fest when there still should be a lot for him to prove.
FWIW- Unlike a lot of American voters, I'm not simply anti-McCain or anti-Obama. I'm against the American voting/party structure. I wish a lot of people(those that don't really, really support Obama or McCain) would ask thenselves why they feel they have to vote for either. There are other choices.

I believe that is a false statement as well, there sure looked like a lot of McCain supporters on TV last night....

There's more McCain supporters on the Republican side than Obama supporters on the Democrat side, at least according to all the primaries.
