I think that's a reasonable way of looking at it, haltz.
Most reasonable people would. Unfortunately, a lot of American's aren't reasonable. They want handouts. It's tough because all people should have basic rights and privileges. But at the same time, these are the people that make true Socialism too difficult to attain. Their laziness and poor attitude bring down the rest. It just seems to me Obama is playing to these people too much. He's offering them hope without answers. There is no answer to this problem. I think people will realize that in 8 years.
How do you know he doesn't have answers, and what makes you think he condones laziness and poor attitude?
No one has the answer. Some people are inherently bad and some are inherently lazy. Just like some are innately great speakers and others are heroic.
Everyone won't ever be equal or have all the same things. It won't happen. It's the flaw of Marxism/Socialism; people aren't perfect though an ideology could be.
You've completely lost me. Are we still talking about what Haltz said, or are you off on another tangent. Nobody said anything about everyone being perfect. If that's what you think Obama's platform is, then you need to take another look and listen.
And yes, we're all aware that McCain was a war hero. I think it's been mentioned once or twice.
This made my head explode...you can't be both people!
Of course you can. Murdering an innocent unborn baby is completely different that killing a homicidal maniac who made the choice to murder.
Though I basically agree with you that abortion and capital punishment are completely different and think prochoicers who try to claim that it's hypocrisy to oppose abortion and support the death penalty have a loose grip on reality, I deeply resent your choice of words.

I was simply getting back to the point that Obama preaches hope w/o answers.
I'm all for killing people that have undoubtedly killed others. What's the alternative? Have them sit in a jail cell for 60 years?
I'm against abortion, though I don't really think it should be illegal. I don't really feel it's my place to force my interpretations or beliefs on others.
So, because I'm pro-life, pro-capital punishment, you think I'm a hypocrite? Which of my positions do you disagree with?

Right, life is precious, until you're born, then kill the f'er!
What a joke.
I thought we were past this and the thread had moved back to politics. We are not going to all agree on this and just because you disagree, TAZ, doesn't make the opposing opinion a joke.
On another note, I'm not some big women's lib-er, but I find the photos and talk about Palin degrading. I don't hear any talk or see any photos of any of the male candidates schlongs floating around out there, maybe they just don't have any schlongs....that may be it.

For the record, you would not be considered Pro-Life.
