How does her daughter getting pregnant make her a hypocrite?
If anything, it's the opposite of hypocrisy.

She is vehemently pro-abstinence education and anti-contraceptive. Her 17 year old daughter getting pregnant is just her ignorance biting her in the ass, but it does show that she stuck to her guns and taught her daughter to be a fool and not wrap her boyfriend's tool.

I just love the way the Democrats run a hypocricy free party. I also find less humor in teenage pregnancy than Snayke, though I do see a bit of irony here. My parents raised me not to drink and I go out sometimes, does that make my parents failures?
Boy I sound like a big fat hypocritic Republican here, don't I? Or at least a politician. I think I have a point, but I didn't say it very gracefully.

There are a bunch of ways that people try and do this. Depending on how allegorical you want to say the creation account is in Genesis, you can mesh it completely with everything science comes up with. Young Earth Creationism, Old Earth Creationism and Theistic Evolution are the terms you are looking for. That's the declension in terms of how literal they take the first part of the bible IIRC.

It's just a way to say, "I believe in God, but I'm not going to sound insane and try and contradict science." Which is fine. You don't need any of the watchmaker stuff either (which is a ridiculously dumb argument). If someone believes in God because of a way they feel they shouldn't have to rationalize it.

Anyway, her daughter getting pregnant doesn't make her a hypocrite. But it makes her look bad whether that's fair or not.

Now reporters and bloggers and trying to trace her connections to the Alaskan Independence Party and the American Constitution Party.
The McCain campaign is calling this a lie. The husband was a member of the AIP, and maybe she just hung out with them.

The secessionist groups are fascinating.

I'm curious - who wouldnt evangelical and GOPs like -as long as they stood (or pretended to stand) on their side of the abortion/morality BS ? And who wouldn't the die-hard GOP like as a candidate - as long as that candidate kept their party as the ruling one.

There is nothing the least bit funny about this 17 year old girl getting pregnant.
I think the irony plays well among some folks. Especially when it plagues the self righteous.

You may see abortion as BS, but many don't.

You may have already said but I don't remember, so let's get this straight...are you looking for government to overturn the Roe v Wade ruling and make abortion illegal?

If not or if so, does this issue dictate who you vote for?

Overturning Roe v Wade wouldn't make abortion illegal nationwide. It is up to each state.

To be honest, from a purely legal standpoint Roe v Wade was/is a bad decision. Just as Gore v Bush was a terrible decision (and a case that the Court should have never even heard).

I see abortion as killing an unborn child. To my knowledge killing someone is not legal. To me it is not a moral thing, thusly, to me it is not government deciding what is moral. This issue does not dictate who I vote for, since I know there are too many people in favor of keeping abortion legal, so I know no candidate I vote for will be able to change Roe V. Wade. Obama says he wants to do many things I am in favor of so I still have not decided who to vote for. I am not making up my mind until I have all the info available to me before I have to cast that vote. Inflammatory remarks hold very little weight with me.
