Maybe I'm drunk and I don't know if you are serious or not, but I don't believe this at all.

If this is serious, then do I get to blame God for that wet dream as an abortion?
Abortions are a neccesary evil until we overhaul the adoption system, otherwise, wtf are you going to do wtih all the babies.?!?!

I wasn't serious, but McCain was serious when he related birth control to abortion for his answer as to why medical insurance companies would provide benefits for Viagra but wouldn't provide benefits for birth control...

have to give McCain credit, no matter whether or not she's qualified to be the president-in-waiting of the USA after 1 1/2 years of real political service (small town mayor doesn't count, I've met 28 y/o's that were small-town mayors) he really pulled a rabbit out of hat here...truly genius...

people know less about her than they do about just about anyone else in politics...that's good these days...

she's a woman, obviously...naming a woman takes a ton of press away from the historical achievement of Obama being the first western candidate of African descent to being nominated by a major party....genius...

she's decently attractive (although I wouldn't go so far as to say Hot unless you've been in jail for some years now)...that takes away the fact that McCain has definitely not aged well, and looks like just another fat old white guy running for office...genius

her husband is a union worker, again the Republicans love playing on the role of 'someone you can have a beer with' instead of someone with great policies and great intellect, because they know that most of America doesn't have a lot of intellect and secretly hate those that do (ok, that's a bit over the line, I admit, but it's the only reasoning I can come up with why America would rather have humpty dumpty as it's president than a great thinker)....genius

she loves guns and shooting things, and she's such a woodsy woman that she continually catches her own dinner with just here hands and some rope made out of moose hair...and we all know how important that is in America...

I just have to think I'm about done with this country...there won't be any state rights and less and less civil/human rights, and soon this will be the United States of Evangelicals...which I'm sure will make about 40% of the country very happy, and enslave the other 60%...
I can't wait until our next Moralistic Party president takes us into another great, fantastic Cold War while hundreds of thousands die in African without any American even blinking an eye, maybe they need to find some more oil in African before Republicans become interested....

feel free to delete this post...I give up...

I almost forgot...
she also has a kid with down syndrome, so you can't attack her without looking like an arse....genius...

Karl Rove is such a genius I don't know how he isn't the anti-christ...

also, I guess McCain can pull his 'celebrity Obama' adds, considering Palin may be hyped even more at this point....

Well, they're certainly going to try and play it up as though the McCain ticket is now equally historic to the Obama ticket. Personally, I think that's a little insulting to what Obama has achieved thus far. The McCain ticket has named a woman...that's the extent of it. I wouldn't know where to begin as far as describing the ground-breaking nature of the Obama campaign, in addition to the color of his skin.

That's the outlook I'm taking. I've said it before and I'm sticking to it. If the Republicans retain the White House you'll soon find me living somewhere near Nova Scotia.

We'll see in the end, after hearing her speak I'm having a very hard time believing this is going to be a good move long term. But who knows, he might get just enough Clinton support to push him over the top.

Give McCain a little more credit than that, he put out an ad congratulating him for his historic accomplishment. What McCain did was brought in somebody to bring in the Clinton votes that are still bitter over how Obama treated her while bringing youth to his ticket and a pro-life person to help secure the evangelical christian vote. It would be foolish to think McCain made his choice so that he could steal Obama's thunder. We're talking about a VP candidate here. And who cares about her experience? Obama has experience questions around him and he's a presidential candidate, not a VP candidate.

At what point do we get to stop the love affair with the idea of a black president? I really don't care about the color of my president, but I do care about his decisions he makes in office.

From your link pop...
She is also sueing the federal government over listing the polar bears as a threatened species. The science was even compelling enough to convince the Secretery of the Interior that the bears needed to be listed. But acknowlegement of this issue, and the potential disruption to development on Alaska’s oil-rich north slope spurred Palin to attempt to stop the listing.
Does she want to open ANWR? Yes. Every politician in Alaska wants to open ANWR. It’s basically a requirement if you ever hope to get elected for anything. Even Mark Begich, the progressive Democrat running against the indicted Senator and Alaskan institution Ted Stevens, is pro-drilling. That’s the sea we swim in up here. There are a few anti-drilling folks, but you have to look hard to find them, and work hard to have them admit it.

It will be a shame if the issue of her being an "outdoorsperson" comes up. Her actions are simply not consistent with what I (and Trout Unlimited, Ducks Unlimited, Sierra Club, LCV, ....) think of as an outdoorsperson. It's a tough political climate in Alaska for an environmentalist, but a real "maverick" would have done the right thing.

I don't know of a single person who is voting for Obama because he is black. Really sucks that this question is still coming up.
