Is she qualified? Throw the partisan stuff out the window, this time yesterday was Palin on your list as people you wanted to be your president should something happen to McCain?
Be honest.

I didn't think she would get the nomination, thought she was too conservative for most tastes. I admittedly don't know a tremendous amount about her, but what I know I like. When elected mayor, she cut her own salary. As governor she vetoed the ridiculous bridge to nowhere. I seem to recall she was in favor of giving hospital visitation rights to homosexuals. I seriously don't see what there is to ridicule.

When you looked at her resume, the first thing that popped out was "too conservative"? I believe you, but is that really what you thought?07come11 wrote:I didn't think she would get the nomination, thought she was too conservative for most tastes. I didn't really look at her resume, and if I'm being completely honest, my first thought was "someone that attractive is governor?
However, with McCain floating a Lieberman balloon, and knowing she was pretty staunch pro-life, I just figured no.

Anybody who says if their daughter was raped and impregnated, that she'd refuse her to get an abortion, no matter what she wanted to do, is absolutely bat [expletive] crazy. I don't need to convince everyone. Everyone will be convinced thoroughly by November.BW23 wrote:Keep digging up us much negative stuff as you can. You might convince someone. "She's not prepared to be governor. How can she be prepared to be vice president or president? said Green, a Republican from Palin's hometown of Wasilla. "Look at what she's done to this state. What would she do to the nation?"
Green, who has feuded with Palin, brought up the big oil tax increase Palin pushed through last year. She also pointed to the award of a $500 million state subsidy to a Canadian firm to pursue a natural gas pipeline that's far from guaranteed.
House Speaker John Harris, a Republican from Valdez, was also astonished at the news. He didn't want to get into the issue of her qualifications.
"She's old enough," Harris said. "She's a U.S. citizen."

Re: Obama/Biden vs. McCain/Palin: The Thread
There's certainly a difference in the way we debate politics and the way we debate baseball. It's almost a given that we'll see a large percentage of knee-jerk reactions to a high draft pick that no one has heard of and immediately criticize management and assume that the pick is a miserable failure or a lost opportunity...but when it comes to politics, it seems we'll forever give the benefit of the doubt to our candidate/party and look for any possible means to defend them. I'd have to believe that the years of constant spinning that we've been subjected to and the stubborn tendency of never conceding a thing that we've come to expect plays a part in it.
I've voted Republican most of my adult life, although I've backed Obama from day one, but I don't think I'd have any trouble admitting that this pick was at least curious, if not a bad one. But I don't think I've seen anyone on her, other than Obama supporters, admit anything other than it's a great pick.

She's bat crazy because she doesn't want to kill a child?
Makes sense I guess...wow
I mean I understand that you're pro choice, and I understand that that's a horrible situation, but, why couldn't they put the child up for adoption after it was born? The kid won't know how he/she was conceived, and he/she may go on to do great things..
Sorry, but I really don't think refusing to play God is acting bat crazy
