She's hot, but otherwise there's not that much else I like about her. She's had only two years of Governorship; Come on Mr. McCain.

Paul Begala kind of reminds me of a dillweed. He can raise the roof, though. I'll give him that.

Not even two years. Just over a year and a half.AdmiralKird wrote:She's hot, but otherwise there's not that much else I like about her. She's had only two years of Governorship; Come on Mr. McCain.

Re: Obama/Biden vs. McCain/Palin: The Thread
Obama's experience, IMO, is just a kick in the bucket as far the issues go. Most that are opposed to him just don't like what he stands for. I couldn't care less about his experience. It's his issues I have problems with. It's those that are supporting him that should have the problem IF they see it as one.PujolJunkie wrote:The same people [expletive] about Obama not being ready to lead are ready to vote for John McCain, who has picked the most inexperienced Vice Presidential candidate of all time who would be taking over in 4 years. Are you serious?
Obama: 8 years in Illinois state legislature, 3 1/2 years United States Senator, President Harvard Law Review, Consitutional Law Scholar, Professor Chicago Law, Author, Prescient grasp of foreign policy.
Sarah Palin: 2 years as Alaskan governor, Mayor of a town that has a population of less than 10k, Mother.
How the hell can anybody attack Obama on being inexperienced and use that as a reason to vote against him, but John McCain obviously doesn't think experience is that big of an issue, because he just picked a soccer mom to be his [expletive] VP.
-- Sarah Palin"[A]s for that V.P. talk all the time, I’ll tell you, I still can’t answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the V.P. does every day?"
I just hope the experience argument goes away just as the Washington establishment goes away.
But then, I'd love to see the HOPE and CHANGE crap go away as well.

Just piling on now:
Barack Obama has 3 times as many donors as Palin has people in her state.

This is among the most ridiculous things I've seen written on this forum. Absolutely ridiculous. And as a card carrying member of the GOP base, I'm incredibly insulted, and it just proves how little you and apparently many other democrats know about republicans, the religious right, and conservatives in general.Huckabee genuinely cares for the less fortunate and that is a sign of weakness to the GOP base.

Jack Kemp was always incredibly unpopular, to the point of being a VP nominee.

If McCain dies, she would become president and pick someone like Joe Biden to be the veep and round out the experience factor. It worked for Obama.

Re: Obama/Biden vs. McCain/Palin: The Thread
Can someone please expound on this a bit?PujolJunkie wrote:This sums it up. From Paul Begala:
"Palin a first-term governor of a state with more reindeer than people, will have to put on a few pounds just to be a lightweight. Her personal story is impressive: former fisherman, mother of five. But that hardly qualifies her to be a heartbeat away from the presidency.
For a man who is 72 years old and has had four bouts with cancer to have chosen someone so completely unqualified to become president is shockingly irresponsible. Suddenly, McCain's age and health become central issues in the campaign, as does his judgment."
