Takes away the "not ready to lead" argument from the Republicans, IMO. Especially when the heartbeat away is the 72-year old McCain's.
Maybe it is shrewd, but I could see it backfiring.
Fair point, but it's not quite as clear-cut. Biden can claim that he's open to change. Palin can't really claim to having more experience than she actually has.

I agree, but if the oil helps in the meantime and it helps even a little in getting off of Saudi or Venezuelan oil, I'm for it.TimeForGuinness wrote:I'd rather just get off of oil. I certainly don't have an issue with investing lots of money in renewable, cleaner sources and trying to develop that.

Biden also said he wasn't the pick two days prior to it being revealed that he was.jim wrote:She can get there. She is the devil, she has ways to travel at warp speed.clevername wrote:I've read Palin's staff is saying she's still currently in Alaska and doesn't plan to leave.
Gotta love media rumors and hype.

Maybe. I think people will be a lot more forgiving with an inexperienced VP. I don't see it being an issue.
edit - cnn is reporting it now.

Reaching the "No Middle Eastern Oil" in 10 years...isn't very hard to achieve...especially if we start conserving.
We just need to back off two countries...Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Venezuela might be good too...but my guess is that nutcase down there will be out of office in the near term.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_PalinIn 1984, Palin was second-place in the Miss Alaska beauty pageant after winning the Miss Wasilla contest earlier that year, winning a scholarship to help pay her way through college.[6] In the Wasilla pageant, she played the flute and also won Miss Congeniality.
