Povetkin vs. Chambers. Chambers is the smooth boxing American. Povetkin the the technical, strong Russian. Should be a good match as the winner will certainly deserve their shot at little Klitschko. Povetkin's rumored to be the real deal. So we shall see. I don't see anybody beating Wlad. He's been real good lately.

This was an awful fight. This is why the heavyweight divsion blows. I was looking foward to watching Chambers and he disappointed me. It looked like neither one of theses guys wanted to fight.

Susprisingly the Jones Tito fight was very good. Tito looked alot older and slower than Jones. Tito hall of fame right hand is gone. Jones wont beat anybody else is that divsion let alone Calzaghe...

I agree Jones can beat an out of shape Tito, but would get destroyed by a top fighter.
The heavyweight fight was ok. Chambers can't punch. He's the Winky Wright of the Heavys. All D, no O. Isn't fun to watch. I'll give Povetkin another chance though. He wanted to fight, He had nothing to hit as Chambers was all about blocking. Povetkin thrw over twice as many punches.

Pavlik v. Taylor II this weekend!!

Not much on the undercard, unless you're a fan of the bantamweights (which I don't know much about), but the main event should be epic. The first fight was definitely a candidate for fight of the year, and I am expecting much of the same in the rematch. I'm going to miss the Emanuel Steward tirades in the corner as a result of Taylor disregarding most if not all of his suggestions, but hopefully he is calling the fight instead of Lennox.

Also, impressive performance by Carlos Quintana last weekend, anyone watch? The welterweight division is so stacked.

I am pumped for this fight, and hoping that it is just as good or better than the first.

This fight will be awesome. I really like Pavlik. He hits like a truck and has the chin a champ needs. I too will miss Manny going off on how bad Taylor is fighting. Let's see, Taylor you've looked awful for your last 3 fights. Let's fire the best trainer there is.

I watched Quintana work Williams. Williams, for all his lenght and speed, just can't punch. He coulnd't knockout a tough lightweight. Qunitana just worked him because he knew Williams wasn't capable of knocking him out. I agree w/ what Kellerman said post fight. Seeing how good Quintana is and remebering how bad Cotto beat him down, makes Cotto look even more like the man. Mayweather will retire before fight Cotto.

I too really like Pavlik. Although he seems to have a habit of getting knocked down early recently (Zuniga, McKart, and Taylor all knocked him down within the first couple rounds), he has tremendous resiliency in getting off the canvas and finishing his man. The first time I saw Pavlik live was against Lenord Pierre (only saw clips of the Zuniga and McKart fights), and I was overwhemled by his punching power. It was obvious Pierre was over matched the entire fight, but it was quite amusing watching Pierre flail all over the ring as a result of Pavlik's agonizing punching power. Leading into the Miranda fight (I don't think we need to discuss the Zertuce fight LOL) I thought Pavlik had a decent chance at winning but Miranda is no slouch (hence his excruciating knockout of David Banks, who could be an entirely different conversation LOL). Yet Pavlik handled Miranda as if he were any ordinary fighter, and quite impressively I might add. Given he beat Taylor this weekend, I look forward to him potentially stepping up a class and giving Calzaghe some real competition, although Kessler probably gave Calzaghe the most punishment he's received in years.

As far as Quintana goes, I agree with you and Kellerman that his performance against Williams only makes Cotto's utter domination of Quintana that much more impressive, rather than a slight against Williams. Cotto has been a "man amongst boys" for awhile now IMO, and last weekend's fight just backs that up as far as I'm concerned. I was, and still am, a big fan of Paul Williams, as I have a similar body type 6'2"/160, but Quintana totally dominated that fight. As much as I was rooting for Williams, I sincerely questioned what fight Lederman was watching.

As far as Mayweather facing Cotto, I honestly don't see it happening. There are rumors swirling of a Hatton/Pretty Boy rematch, but I don't see the point. I think Mayweather knows he can generate major revenue fighting Hatton again. Unfortunately because of so many money grubbing whores involved with boxing, as much as the welterweight division has to offer the potential will never be realized IMO.

I hear you. The money grabbers won't allow us to see the best fight possible, in any division, Cotto-Mayweather. Just like they won't allow the general public a piece of mind when it comes to "The Champ". There's so many garabage belts trown around by the corrupt sanctioning bodies that it's hard for the public to keep track of.

For this weekend, Let's go Pavlik!

Pavlik wins.
I think Taylor is shot. That or he really admires Cory Spinks style of dancing/fighting.

Do you think Pavlik can unify the belts? I think he has a shot.

Oh yeah. He'll beat Duddy, then Abraham and then he'll have 3 of the 4 belts. The only things that could stop him,
1. a corrupt sanctioning organization making unification impossible
2. He gets a shot to fight Calzaghe and he moves up in weight
