MLS discussion thread to save MLS STL thread

Post by TabascoElvis »

Speaking of MLS,,, did anyone watch the Fire/DC United round? I couldn't believe the late 2d half pressure DC had culminating in an almost miraculous 3-2 win to go to OT. Amazing soccer played last week, wish I got more than 1 game a week on ESPN2.

It was pretty awesome how they turned on the pressure at the end - they nearly forced extra time to decide the winner. I'm a big United fan since the league started up while I was going to school there in DC.

Tell me about it. Do you get the "Spanish Speaking" channel (I don't know what it's really called)? I've tried watching those games but can't stand to listen to them.

Thrill's got a really good soccer deal going...tons of viewing.

GOL TV, Fox Soccer Channel and Setanta. It's good stuff. Tons of EPL, MLS, Bundesliga, Seria A and a little La Liga and Argentinian league action as well.

We had a preview month (or more) through Dish that included Setanta. Got me hooked on soccer, they carried hurling and rugby and Irish rules football, etc. But it's not worth the extra $$ right now.

Goal of the year in MLS. Bar none. The header touch and then the bicycle through two guys; in the playoffs no less.

Plus he had been getting roughed up all game. It was a nice F you moment to Chicago.

That ball hit Twellman's head and not the defender's? I watched the replay about a half dozen times for obvious reasons, but I was more focused how he managed to bike the ball through the 1/2 inch gap between the two defenders. Unreal finish.

It looked to me like he biffed the header and caught it on the bicycle. I could be wrong though.
