P, this sounds exactly like a kneel-down situation. Your opponent has given it their best shot (used all their players), and you have control of the ball (players left to play). Why risk giving up a guaranteed win for the likely possibility of winning by more when there is also the less likely possibility of losing because you run one more play (start the rest of your team).

A coach would probably be fired if they went for more instead of taking a knee, and lost as a result.
If you were in my office league and "took a knee" like this, I would would place a pair of panties on your keyboard for you to see when you get to the office on Tuesday.

If you did it to me, I would congratulate you like a man, tell you it was a good win, and say "thanks, P, for not running the score up on me. That's a really bush league move, and it was really classy that you didn't do it."

So what you're telling me is, if I'm out of underwear one day, instead of making a make-shift loincloth out of a t-shirt, I can just not start a FF player, and Popeye will give me free underwear?

I would visit the nearest Goodwill, and bring you the granniest of all granny panties.

And yes, I'd deliver them in my man purse.
