Kalen Grimes decides being an NCAA b-ball player isn't "him"
A week after teammate DeMarre Carroll got shot in the ankle, leading to a zero-tolerance policy implemented by Mike Anderson, Kalen Grimes decides it would be a good idea to get in a fight and swing his shotgun around.

He was suspended indefinitely before the shotgun stuff came out, and now I can't imagine him ever coming back.

...another link to the Quin Snyder era begins the journey toward basketball oblivion.

No big loss to the team...well, maybe physically, but not talent wise.
At least Anderson will clear house and get his players in sooner rather than later. A local kid to me is making a visit very soon....class of '09.

We don't need any players that carry shotguns around. No matter how good they are. (Kalen is ok but not that special.)
Run him off the team.
Run him off the team.

Is it another Hansboro? (by which I mean, is it literally one of Tyler's kid brothers?)BW23 wrote:No big loss to the team...well, maybe physically, but not talent wise.

I hope Grimes learns that carrying around shotguns and handguns are not the thing to do.

Most people can figure that out without having to get busted at 3 a-m on a Dairy Queen parking lot.stretch wrote:I hope Grimes learns that carrying around shotguns and handguns are not the thing to do.

No. I think that train has ended, although his brother that was at Mississippi State might not mind transferring to MU.RC21 wrote:Is it another Hansboro? (by which I mean, is it literally one of Tyler's kid brothers?)BW23 wrote:No big loss to the team...well, maybe physically, but not talent wise.

He's Michael Porter from Sikeston. He's up to about 6'6", just turned 16, and is already a 2-time, First Team All Stater in Class 4. Led the team as a freshman to the runner-up spot in the state tourney. Upset by 1 in districts last year on a 30+ footer at the buzzer...by a team that finished with the runner-up spot in the state tourney.
MU has really increased their interest lately, probably since he has played well on the 16 and under St. Louis Eagles team. SIU would have taken a verbal during his sophomore season. Not sure who else is interested.
He won't be nearly as good as Tyler (although he's better at the same age level), but he certainly won't be a problem qualifiying like Tyler was.
