Interview thread embarassing?

The point is keep it out of the baseball forum (which includes the minor league and interviews forums). What is so hard about that?

What is so hard about it, is that none of us really know what 'it' is. I've posted serious baseball stuff in baseball...it gets moved to social. On some days. On others it is allowed to die a slow death and fall off the page. I have no idea what the standards are.

Oh, and edit. I don't comprehend how the interview thread would hurt this guy's feelings and embarass a forum, when what was said about him in minor leagues was much, much worse.

Did anyone realize that I was joking when I asked 'The Question' that I was joking? I didn;t know you passed the link on, so sorry on that, but when have you known me to be serious. At the time I was trying to get my post as the last post on each board applicable (Archived obviously I can't, Doc has that distinction) And I couldn't think of anything helpful for the board so I decided to be a dick instead and ask a question to get a rise out of someone in a 'HA HA' kind of way obviously it wasn't taken in that manner...My Bad

It wasn't "the question" it was the complete thread hijack and sophomoric posting thereafter. Do you see the difference? The fact that the link could be passed on is irrelevant, I don't want posting like that in the baseball forums.

I know a lot of posters on here feel the mods have changed (and maybe we have) but if you notice the earlier interview question threads were treated with a certain amount of respect. So who has changed? I attempted to control growing amount of ridiculousness in the BT by creating "Thread Creation in BT" rules. Admittedly that stratagy was a flawed because there's a lot of gray area and it was impossible to be consistant. I'm asking posters to have fun in BT but have some self control.

It's like obscenity, I know when I see it but it's tough to define. Can you see the difference between your Mulder question and what went on afterward? Again, the thread moving went a little overboard and we haven't been moving as many.

I was embarressed because interviewing our first round pick is an exciting privilege and it's excatly the type of thing I want GRB to be about. I feel a real lack of respect was shown by trashing that thread and it frustrated the hell out of me.

In the minors forum there were posters extremely disapointed with a pick. I didn't see any questions like "which number do you perfer, 37 or 73?".

Just a suggestion -- and this is just according to my tendencies on the forum -- but I actually very rarely will read stickies/announcements/anything at the top of the forum. I honestly didn't even realize that there was one up there. Maybe a reminder at the beginning of each of the threads to keep it clean and respectful would help.

I don't think it was necessary to dress down TGBS in the other thread. He obviously didn't know that Kozma was going to see it (he mistakenly said several times that he wouldn't before someone finally corrected him).

I enjoy the crazy\silliness in social and rants but it doesn't belong in the baseball forums. I know not everyone agrees but GRB can't be everything to everyone. Sorry if this angers anyone.

Just a few reminders in the first post of the thread? For example, Fat_Strat started the Kozma interview thread, when he asks to post questions, couldn't there be a reminder of the guidelines and to not get carried away with silly questions?

Or shoot, even have a mod keep an eye on the interview threads and if people start getting silly then they could be respectfully reminded, simliar to the 'Hey, let's keep it friendly' motto that a lot of the mods use.

Also, I don't think posters mind if their posts/threads get deleted or moved as long as they get a clear explanation as to why. If you had deleted questions in that thread by people, but PM'ed them (so the thread wouldn't be hijacked) in a non-condescending manner and explained why they were deleted, I think people wouldn't be so p*ssy about it.

Again, just trying to offer suggestions.

I am surprised that adults actually need a reminder on how to act when posting interview questions.
