TLR Vs Bernie

Post by Dillagii »

I just saw the clip (thanks BMS!) of TLR arguing with Bernie in the post-match conference. It was worse than what I thought initially. It's really sad to see the reporter and manager of a classy organization arguing like that in front of the cameras.

I would like to see the inputs of the board members on this issue. What caused this? It all started with PD's article regarding the Cubs. Are they at fault? The quality of PD articles have came down significantly since 2004. They are trying to be "tough" but it sure aren't working. Can we fault TLR for getting this hyper? He has became lot more impatient lately.

I doubt he will be back next year. I think he had enough.

I really don't have a problem with it. I might have more of a problem if it was about the Cardinals... I think it's funny this is all over something that was written about another team.

I think it's all overblown due to the frustration both sides are feeling with this team.

The PD article wasn't the smartest thing to do. LaRussa overreacted and Bernie reciprocated the overreaction.

I thought the article was tongue-in-cheek.

I watched the clip and I didn't think it was a big deal at all. I mean yeah TLR was mad, but that's the type of personality he has. Bernie soudned a bit whiney but it's not like they came to blows or said "go to my office and i'll fight you" or anything stupid like that.

TLR had an opinion and he expressed it. I don't see the big deal.

Thanks BMS for the link.

I was expecting much worse after seeing the comments on Bernie's Pressbox. Did any questions about the game ever get asked? If not, TLR was brilliant in his misdirection.

Bernie will soak up every second of this attention. He loves it.

I don't know if he was trying to misdirect questions or not, but he was visibly angry. I didn't see the article that stirred all of this up, so I don't know if he overreacted or not. My guess based on what I think the article was was that he handled it about right.

I'm not a big Bernie fan, so pretty much any venom shot his way I consider a good thing.

He was asked the questions that people expected.

Why PH for Edmonds and why not for PW.

He said that he and Jimmy talked about it and he decided to PH. And that Preston got a rally started against Dempster in Chicago last week - which is why he stayed with him in that AB.
