Memphis had the night off.
Springfield won 4-3 against Wichita. Apparently that was their first win at home this year. Eric Haberer had an OK night giving up 3 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings. He’s still giving up way too many walks however. Reliever Matt Scherer is quietly building a nice career. So far he’s given up 1 run over 12 and 1/3 innings and has 9 strikeouts. Chris Perez had another scoreless inning and a K. Jon Jay was 2 for 5 (including the game winning hit in the 9th) and is back above the Mendoza line. Colby Rasmus was 1 for 3 with a double. Jarrett Hoffpauir and Tyler Greene were each 2 for 4. Box Log
Palm Beach lost 7-2 to Daytona. Adam Daniels, coming off 2 great starts, had a so-so night and gave up 3 earned runs over 5 innings with 3 Ks. First basement Mark Hamilton was 2 for 3 and is 4 for his last 11. Hopefully that is the start of a good streak for him. Shane Robinson had 2 stolen bases. Box Log
The Quad Cities team was also off.

IMO its time to move Eric Haberer to middle relief. He has struggled as a starter and he could become an effective lefthanded reliever. I know there was an article last year about doing this but I guess the Cards wanted to give him another shot as a starter. In 14 inn this year he has given up 9 runs to go along with 11 walks and only 2 Ks. I think this move might be the only way for him to reach the majors...
