51 PA's, which isn't a lot, but I would say enough to justify giving him a few more AB's against them to see if he can keep it up.

Does anyone know his MILB numbers against lefties?

True, but wouldn't we take Jrod's small sample size over Skip's?

I think Skip is here because TLR doesn't feel comfortable with the outfield defense. Skip can play any OF position. Not saying this because of what happened, but because I was saying it before the season - but how much has Skip's glove helped this team? How much will it help this team? Is it enough to keep JRod in Memphis, or would you rather have him up on the big club?

I know what the answer is for me, and it's the same answer I had on April 1.

Skip "can play any OF position" but for some reason he is not. My point about this whole thread is that if he is not starting he stinks in PH situations where it really matters. I am not talking everyday starter, just starting a game as opposed to PH.

He is much more relaxed at the plate visibly anyway.

To me this is the perfect reason he should be sent down. He will not and should not get that many starts on this team, and to keep him here for PH duties is not helping anything.

JRod while not the best player in the world, at least understands IMO how to go about PH duties. He is a downgrade in the OF as far as defense goes, but I am not all that worried about it. Can't be any worse than what Wilson did Yesterday right, and IMO he is a better hitter.

Wilson is another topic altogether....to be to the point....I hate to see Players waist an at bat as fast as Preston does. If he gets a strike on him on the first pitch he might as well save his energy and go sit down, because the next pitch could be in the stands and he will still swing at it.

He is kind of like Vlad Guerrero when he swings.

Meaning, they both swing at really bad pitches al the freaking time.

The only small differnece is that VLAD ACTUALLY HITS THEM ALMOST EVERYTIME and Preston never hits them. But they both swing the same at them.

OK maybe Preston is to Vlad what Bizarro is to Superman.

FWIW, Rodriguez is still apparently not recovered from "tweaking" his knee last week (I think in that game in which he started in CF) - he's played very little since then except to DH or PH, and his BA has fallen to .231 - and he's only driven in two runs in 26 AB.

Ryan Ludwick did go 3-for-4, or something like that, in yesterday's loss with a couple of homers; he went from .291 to .327 and now has 4 HR and 12 RBI.

Ankiel, of course, has 5 HR and 14 RBI, but is only hitting .216.
