Lets get off this losing streak before we head to Chi town. Another LHP, should be a tough one.

Kip Wells 1-2 vs. Noah Lowery 0-2

Cardinals starting pitcher Kip Wells will try to take one back for St. Louis in the Cardinals' final game against the Giants on Thursday.
The right-handed pitcher may have a considerably easier time earning the win than Wednesday's starter, given that several players in the Giants' starting lineup are sure to get the afternoon off after Wednesday night's 12-inning game.

One batter Wells probably won't have to worry about is Barry Bonds, who hit home run No. 738 against the Cardinals on Wednesday night.

"He's always a tough out," Wells said. "He got No. 600 off me, so he's gotten me before."

Wells wasn't too worried about Bonds, though, or Thursday's start in general. He is 3-2 against the Giants with a 2.87 ERA.

Pitching matchup
STL: RHP Kip Wells (1-2, 2.25 ERA)
It's tough to give up a total of five runs in three starts and take two losses, but that's been Wells' fate thus far. He's pitched very well for the most part, with one consistent foible: He's had a devil of a time getting the opposing pitcher out. If he can control the nine spot in the order, Wells should fare just fine at spacious AT&T Park.

SF: LHP Noah Lowry (0-2, 2.77)
Matched against San Diego's Greg Maddux in his last outing, Lowry needed to be perfect. Instead, he was adequate, allowing four runs (three earned) and five hits in six-plus innings in a 4-0 Giants loss on April 11. Lowry admitted afterward that he lacked command of his fastball, which he needs to offset his changeup.

Player to watch
If he gets the afternoon start, which he very well might after Wednesday's 12-inning night game, Preston Wilson will be the player to watch. Of all the Cardinals, Wilson has logged the most plate time against Lowry, with 12 at-bats. Wilson has taken a home run and a triple from the left-handed hurler.

If Rolen isnt feeling any better I wonder if we have to see Wilson out in right. Four at bats is an ugly thing to witness with him, just as bat with Duncan last night though.
