Yes, a complete insult to suggest that a team is not focused when what I see is a team scratching and clawing to try to make something happen. It's an insult to their professionalism.

In your opinion. So sense we are talking opinions and not facts, it isn't ludacris to think maybe they are not as focused as they used to be. Also no reason to disregard someone elses opinion sense you don't have facts to back up your opinion.

You dont' have to say it. Basically you tell Dan that he has insulted the team and manager because he wondered if they were focused. So to every have that opinion is an insult considering neither you or him have facts to back it up. So if you have ever questioned a guys heart, you have insulted them as well. As aggrevatated you are at Dan for asking it, I hope you would never question a guy then since it is so insulting.

In Dan's opinion, he doesn't see the same fire from the team as in years past. No one is asking them to win 162 games. No one is saying they can't make mistakes. Even when the team was struggling last year badly, you could still see them competing hard. So saying because they were bad last year and this year means they are trying just as hard is not an accurate arguement.

Talk to two people who watch a car wreck. Both will give same story in their own version. Same here. In fact I believe they are trying hard but just not focusing on the little things that win ballgames. I can't speak for Dan but I would think he would say the same. So the real question is, can a person try hard and not be focused? I say yes.

I never twisted dan's words, I used them almost verbatim. And I explained why I think this is an insult to the players and manager.

I don't know you, Ben, but I'm going to be so bold as to say that if you were REALLY trying in class, you'd be focusing.

I try every day in class. I focus every day in class. I try to focus every day in class. I try and fail at focusing every day in class. It's a vicious cycle. If you try to focus but can't focus, then you are trying but not focusing.

And as for your discussion, I think it is much easier to focus without trying than it is to try without focusing. But both can be done!

I don't know and neither do you. Like I said it is all opinions and no one has facts. So maybe it isn't all that outrageous to think they are not focusing. Maybe it is outrageous. One thing is for sure until someone has facts all it is a suggestion or opinion and there is nothing insulting about that.

In Dan's first post he used the word complacent. I know the discussion has since turned to the word focus, but Dan, did you really mean complacent?
