I'm watching "Cold Pizza" and some guy from the NY Post or something was commenting on how Alex Rodriguez was "too muscular" and Larry Bowa told him to get sleek.
Then he goes on to say that A-Rod is more of a ball player now. That's why he has his socks up, that's why he stole a base.
Yeah, good job, A-Rod. You're more of a "ball player" now. You weren't a ball player before because your career line of .305/.386/.573 wasn't "ball playerish."
I'm constantly amazed at the steady stream of crap thrown at a guy who is going to wind up with ~ 700 home runs.
Oh, dynamite stuff here

I couldn't agree more. This is a guy whose "off" year, a year that drew boos and hundreds or thousands of shredding columns and calls for a trade, was .290/.392/.523, with 113 R, 35 HR, and 121 RBI. But hey, that's life in New York.GatewaySnayke wrote:I'm watching "Cold Pizza" and some guy from the NY Post or something was commenting on how Alex Rodriguez was "too muscular" and Larry Bowa told him to get sleek.

There was a comment on the show the other morning about how "if Derek Jeter had it his way, the Yankees would be going after their 12th consecutive championship."
Which of course almost compelled me to send out a poll to the other 749 major leaguers and ask them if they had it their way, would they want to win a championship.

I think it will be more like 800 Home Runs...GatewaySnayke wrote:I'm constantly amazed at the steady stream of crap thrown at a guy who is going to wind up with ~ 700 home runs.

I wouldn't doubt it. Of course, this will all be nullified, because they were non-clutch home runs.Redbirdruss wrote:I think it will be more like 800 Home Runs...GatewaySnayke wrote:I'm constantly amazed at the steady stream of crap thrown at a guy who is going to wind up with ~ 700 home runs.

That's life when you're making 25 mil a year. I will never feel sorry or stick up for Alex Rodriguez. He wanted a huge contract, he got it. He wanted to play for the Yankees, he got it. Are they hard on him? Sure. He makes 25 mil a year and gets whatever he wants. Stop being a b*tch and play baseball.
