Couple of stipulations...
1. I can't root against the home team.
2. I have to entertain someone by talking baseball to apparently a huge fan that I have never met.

April 9, Astros vs Cubs. Rooftop. I'm pumped. Did I sell my soul?

I am not sure we can be friends anymore. I looked the other way when you married a Cub fan because I was afraid you would never find anyone else that would marry you. I have been lenient about the Red sox hat ordeal but this is the last straw. Jesus, what happened to you Jim!!!!!

I hope you don't accidentally fall off the roof top.

Is the other guy such a die-hard Cubbie that you can't even tell him you're a Cardinals guy?

Many of my closest friends root for the Cubs, Twins, etc etc. I just can't imagine a 'real' baseball fan meeting someone for the first time - ie this potential client - and thinking "Wow this guy is likeable, really knows baseball, and is fun to talk to. Too bad the deals off, Cards *bleep* "

Even if you don't wear Cards gear ( I wouldn't go that far, haha!) it seems like it wouldnt be the end of the world, or the potential business deal, to talk about things honestly.

Besides, like you say, any baseball is good baseball! Break a leg, Astros!

For a rooftop ticket, yes you did. Will never do that again.

I get tix to the company box at Wrigley occasionaly.... and it's always with different people. I can never get them when the Cards are in town though.... Upper management always uses those on the VIP clients.

I always go semi-incognito wearing a blue polo with a tiny cardinal on the front. I'm representing..... but I'm not offending..... (I want to keep getting the tix... if I went how I usually go, Cards jersey, talking smack about the Cubs, I doubt they would keep giving them to me)

I'm not going to lie. I won't act any differently than I would with anyone else if I were going to an Astros/Cubs game, I'd just enjoy the game. The only difference is I would wear a Cardinal hat, in this case I'll just leave it at home.
That's not Opening Day. Opening Day is on April 1st. That is just some game that happens to be on April 9th.
Sorry, home opener.

Wear a Cardinal t-shirt underneath (or Cardinal underwear if you have any). That way you won't feel quite so dirty... :?

Sounds like a blast - have fun!
