Forgive my ignorance on the cable industry, but what is InDemand? Is that part of Comcast? Is it it's own company that sells things to Comcast?

Basically I want to know if Comcast is still in the running.

So I guess, if I understand it right, I still might be able to get EI through Comcast if they match the offer by the end of the month? I so hope I'm able to get EI!

What are the chances that these other companys match this offer? I would say pretty slim. If they wernt willing to match the offer over the last year what makes us think they will match it now. I think MLB put this in there as a way of arguing that they tried to prevent a monolopy with Direct TV and as a way of pleasing its fan base. It also pushes the blame off MLB and on to the cable providers if they decide not to match the deal. I hope Comcast matches the offer so I dont have to switch but I dont think its gonna happen.

These decesions are gonna be made so late now that we might miss games. Your right Kyle there isnt going to be any early bird specials unless you got DirectTv. By the time Comcast decides to match this offer it will be opening day... What a mess!

MLB, DirecTV expand on 'Extra Innings' deal

Major League Baseball announced Thursday that its Extra Innings subscription TV package, which allows viewers to receive coverage of virtually every out-of-market game, will continue to be carried on satellite TV provider DirecTV through a new seven-year deal.
But after speculation the package would be available only on DirecTV, prompting concern from Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., MLB says it might be carried on other TV outlets.

MLB President Bob DuPuy said, in an offer good only until the end of March, any cable or satellite TV outlet could continue to carry Extra Innings if it's willing to pay "the same rates" DirecTV would pay if it is not the exclusive outlet. About 540,000 subscribers got Extra Innings last season, with more than half getting it through DirecTV, which charged customers about $180 for the season.

Also Thursday, MLB announced DirecTV will invest in and carry a Major League Baseball channel that will be launched in 2009.

I'm at the point now where they would just make up their minds. I'm waiting and waiting. If you get mlb.tv, do you get ST games? If so, I'm missing out waiting for this nonsense.

I have MLBTV premium & I bought mainly b/c if I'm travelling, I can still watch out of market games at a hotel with hi-speed.

As you can see with the schedule, they broadcast very few games each day, but have more options as far as listening to the games.

I also have my computer hooked up to my HDTV so I can watch the games on the widescreen.

Looks like DirectTV is adding some to the extra innings package... for a little less than $40 more....
similar to their football package...
