For what the Mets got from Helsley, they could have given us gonorrhea and we would have still ended up on the better side of the deal.

34 HR / 91 RBI in 430 PA's as a 21 year old infielder is impressive no matter what the OBP is. His BB% has been respectable in the past, so maybe that will rise back up. The K% is good for those type of power numbers. It would be pretty great to receive a winning lottery ticket in a trade for once.

I can see the Cardinals re-signing Helsley in the off season.

In case you missed it in the offseason, the Cardinals did not re-sign Helsley.

They DID sign Stank.

Given the choice between the two, I guess I'll take Stank rather than Helsley's contract.

Baez’s production is incredible and it should be celebrated. But the walk rate is terrible and it coincides with that jump in production. He’s not just gonna rip mistakes over the left-field fence in the big leagues. This approach is a sub .300 OBP as pitching improves. There’s a lot of development left, though. We’ll see.

Massive jump in swing percentage this year. Contact rates have stayed the same at ~80% overall. That's a really good number for his power data and exit velo's. Chase rate has been ok, not great, but ok.

His BB% drop has coincided with the uptick in power. I agree that he profiles more as a utility player than a star, but he's a multi-million dollar ascending asset, which is undoubtedly a dev success story.
