I'm glad the Padres, I mean, Fox announcers are happy with the results.

I like that they made Miller throw a bunch of pitches and fought to the end. Tough loss but they were fighting.

Earlier missed opportunities came back to bite them.

Agree. They fought hard. So much better than the past few years. They are fun to watch almost every night.

I continually remind myself that guys like Pages, VSII, Pozo, Sagesse, and many of the relievers and SPs, like Pallante, won't be here next year (maybe later this year). I still pull for Gorman but it's hard. I doubt he'll be here next year. He has little trade value, so we could send him down and see how he adjusts.

The CBA is going to have an impact on a lot of what happens in the next couple seasons. Pages and Pozo are not part of the master plan but I don't think they will give up on VSII yet though he might find himself in Memphis when Nootbaar is back this year. Gorman is what he is at this point I think; you just hope he gets a few of those hot streaks that carry the offense a couple of times during the season. He is still under team control through 2029 having just had his first arbitration eligible offseason. It will be interesting to see what happens there.

Victor Scott is not a major leaguer. He could carve out a role but he does almost everything below big league level. Can’t hit. Can’t throw. Not the best outfield reads. Not a good baserunner. He’s just fast. That’s it. The sooner they move on the better.

I agree, and I can't see how this isn't painfully obvious to the organization.

I'd quibble that his baserunning and defense do have value, but are certainly not outstanding enough to carry what will likely be a significantly below-average bat, even in a bench role.
