That Holloway, Thomas, Snuggerud line is fun. I hope they keep them together.

I think the Olympic break allowed the team to have a badly needed reset. The team couldn't win three in a row until well into 2026.
So I don't mind them missing out on a higher draft pick. While the Blues were a borderline playoff team, they shouldn't have been as awful as they were to even be in the conversation for a high first-round pick.

I wonder how active they will be to try and find a 2c. (Like 3/4 of the league) Lots of smoke around dealing Kyrou, but I would think if he goes it’s a return like Wright. A guy also coming off a down year, but with pedigree/potential. Personally I still think it would be a mistake to deal Kyrou unless you are either getting a top4 RD or scoring line C, but I could see them taking a flier on a guy like Wright who probably projects a floor of a 3C with still a chance to be middle 6 or more.
Also…
Thomas ended the year at a ppg pace. 64 in 64.
Snuggs out everything’d Kyrou. 21-18 in goals. 30-28 in assists, and in 2 less games. Though playing with Thomas and Holloway consistently is obviously a big part of that, but so is how he is able to work with them.
Buchy got to 20g and looked like a possibly competent faux c at times.
Dvo with 10+ goals and 20+ points in his first full year at age 20. Snuggles was still at the U of Minn at age 20. (Well until the last 7 games of the year)
Mailloux’s development has been so huge. Seems crazy to say franchise altering but maybe? (Also Bolduc ended the year with 12g and 30p)
Anyone else think Berggren seemed to fit in pretty good here?

And we are down to four.
The Canadiens-Sabres series was the last one I'll likely be fairly invested in. Two fun teams to watch. I don't know why I'm drawn to pull for the Canadiens, but I have been. It would have been really nice to see the Sabres advance too - they were the last remaining team that has never won a cup, and I like to see that for fanbases.
I'll probably still pay attention to the Canes-Canadiens series. Carolina has looked unstoppable so far.
Avs-Knights, I'd prefer both teams to lose. I appreciate watching the sheer skill on the Avs, but I still [expletive] hate them and their fans. I'd like the Knights more if Petro was still playing, and I do still pull for Barbashev. It just kinda irks me that the most pain their fanbase has had to endure was just missing the playoffs one year, while still racking up 94 points.
Side note, I had to go back and look up what we got in the Barbashev trade. A: Zach Dean. Woof.

Yeah, I'm with you. It's been too long since a Canadian team has won the cup. I was also rooting for Buffalo, too.Popeye_Card wrote: ↑May 19 26, 7:49 amAnd we are down to four.

My ranking for wanting teams to win looks something like this:
- MTL
- CAR

Holy cow! Canadians spanked Carolina in game 1. Vegas beat Colorado in game 1. Very unexpected.
