Overdue, dumping Texier, I think.

It is comical at this point. Build a multi-goal lead against a mediocre (at best) opponent. Blow the lead. Lose in overtime after you control the puck for most of that OT. Rinse and repeat.
Blues have been outscored 18-36 in long-change periods (2nd and OT). That's almost unfathomably bad, and can't just be luck. Is it bad coaching? Bad execution? Bad effort?
In some ways this team does remind me of the 2018-2019 version, in that they keep losing games that they should win, and the talent on the roster is far superior to their record. But I don't think this is the same league as it was then. Too much parity now. Blues have played the 3rd easiest schedule in the league thus far, and are still scraping the bottom in points. Even the teams expected to be bad this season (PIT, CHI, SJS, NYI, etc.) are out-pacing them. Most of the other teams expected to take a step forward have done so. Some of those will fall back, but there are other better teams than the Blues (TOR, EDM, etc.) that will certainly make their way back up the standings. I don't see a path to the playoffs opening unless they can go on a huge tear, which I don't think is going to happen.
I think they are toast. This is going to be a lost season. Still more entertaining than the Cardinals at least, so I'll keep watching. Time to start scouting some of the top draft prospects.

In my entire life I've never seen anyone get a 4-minute penalty for becoming injured.
Thank God we managed to hold on.

And not to mention it was after the play; can’t get called for high sticking after they’d already blown the whistle

Yeah, all that while nothing was called for running our goalie.

Dang, Texier got signed by Montreal fast! Blues now with a nicer cap space buffer. Room to take on a risk or a bad contract if we want to accumulate another pick in what is rumored to be a deep draft.
Might be the kind of year to try to sell on a Schenn and/or Faulk if we can’t find our way out of this mess. (Though yikes, who plays RD2 then?) Might be a good year to fill the prospect coffers.
Still too early to worry about that though. One hot streak and they’re back in it. Wake me with trade rumors when January rolls around. The team just seems too talented to continue to be this bad. We’ll see.

Kinda feel like Texier will have a brief period where he's on fire, and then disappear again.

Has the NHL come out with an explanation for the penalty call against Faulk?

Anything note worthy to watch for going into the game tonight against the Rangers?
