Maton has to go.
I think you have to try to deal one of Burly, Noot and Gorman also.

Way to go Mo
You can’t compare middle reliever stats to closer stats as some are wanting to do
In your logic, maton should bring an even greater return than helsley as his stats are much better also this year. So why wasn’t maton closing instead of helsley?
Nvmd don’t answer; I don’t have the energy today

Maton not traveling with the team, so assuming he’s goneCardsofSTL wrote: ↑July 31 25, 8:37 amMaton has to go.

I’d hate to sell low (again), and trade noot or gorman for someone we’re going to just DFA
Burly though…he’s having a career year. We could actually sell high on him
Donny having another great year so we can get a lot for him I’d hope
We just have a terrible constructed team that needs a lot, so good pieces we have to trade, we should, as I just don’t see us contending for awhile.
In his chat, Goold mentioned he’s hearing we’re not doing anything in the FA pool again this year (no surprise), so this team and what in the minors/we trade for, is going to be the team for the most part…which obv isn’t good enough. Every good MLB piece we have, should go.

They should probably also be trying to move some of the AAAA glut...Baker, etc. But I doubt they get much done there.cardsfantx wrote: ↑July 31 25, 8:47 amMaton not traveling with the team, so assuming he’s goneCardsofSTL wrote: ↑July 31 25, 8:37 amMaton has to go.

Yeah, not sure if that would get done now or just left off the 40 man/unprotected after the season and let it take care of itself

its really annoying watching the padres, year after year, make headlining trades with their never-ending supply of prospects while a team like the cardinals have made the fewest trades/signings in the last five years and acquire absolutely 0 talent.

Maybe we could do a 5 team trade where we send six players to five different teams and end up with a low A reliever while somehow the Dodgers get Soto.cardsfantx wrote: ↑July 31 25, 9:06 amYeah, not sure if that would get done now or just left off the 40 man/unprotected after the season and let it take care of itself

only if we can have that low A relief prospect rise up the rankings list, get to the majors, pitch well...then fall off a cliff and be terrible. then trade him at his low point, for another player we can DFA laterCardsofSTL wrote: ↑July 31 25, 9:09 amMaybe we could do a 5 team trade where we send six players to five different teams and end up with a low A reliever while somehow the Dodgers get Soto.cardsfantx wrote: ↑July 31 25, 9:06 amYeah, not sure if that would get done now or just left off the 40 man/unprotected after the season and let it take care of itself

Now that the Mariners have acquired Eugenio Suárez, do you the market for Arenado will increase?

they traded the #3 prospect in all of MiLB, Leo De Vries (along with 3 other named players) phins may know a lot about him, but I don't see anything in his stats that scream #3 overall prospect other than being 18 at A+ ball?
