Well the magic number is 8 points to evade any tiebreakers, with the Flames having 7 games left.

I’m pretty certain 3-4 is all they will need. 4 gets them in even if Calgary can go 5-2-0.

I generally agree, though I think 5-2 is a strong possibility for Calgary. And 6-1 isn’t necessarily far fetched. They play 3 “easy” games, one vs a depleted min, and their last two are vs vgk and lak, and those two might be resting top players if their spot is secured.

So yeah, 4/5 points is likely fine. I’d just feel better with 6+. Then we could rest a few guys in the last game or two of the season, and/or be insulated against a run by Calgary.

Oh, and, uh, kinda big news, ovi tied Gretzky’s career goals record, in one fewer game played. To have continued to be a dominant scorer while the league gets younger and younger. Hats off to the great eight.

Oh hey. Another 6 on 5 goal allowed.

Other teams should really just play the whole game with no goalie

lol.

No Holloway. No parayko. Team has been a little meh the last few wins. I had this one as a loss.

Yet they go up 4-0 on the avs. Avs came back but we still won 5-4 in regulation. Snuggers looks like he belongs. Geez. Oh and Bolduc! Is this kid a first line sniper in his future?

12 in a row! New franchise record! The last time we set a franchise record for wins in a row it was a pretty good year!

With Calgary’s otl and the Blues unexpected (to me) regulation win, our magic number is now 4 or 5 points. (Likely 4, but possibly five if we don’t get any regulation wins and Calgary wins out in regulation. So basically 4) I really didn’t expect a win last night or Monday. I thought our best chance would be against a depleted Edm. There is now a strong chance that we can rest guys like Schenn and Suter, etc. in the final two games. Call up Dvo (looks like they just did this morning) and Kessel and get Tex some games in there... once we’ve clinched.
