I went to Minneapolis to watch the punk band X on their final tour.

Great show!

The guitarist, Billy Zoom, is now 72. Instead of standing and grinning, he's sitting and smirking.
I'm sure it was terrific.

I hope they played some songs from the best named album of all time.

I have that album. I also saw them play live at Mississippi Nights in support of Hey Zeus.

Unfortunately, that album featured Tony Gilkyson on guitar instead of Billy Zoom. They didn't play any of the songs from that album.

i think an interesting topic of discussion would be best debut albums of all time. from a pure singer/songwriter standpoint, i would put Levi turner's debut album, Allergy Season, on that list. not a single skip on this album and highly recommend it if youre into....oklahoma country-americana(???).

Country is in a great place right now. Except that it has to have like six to eight qualifiers so as not to offend, oddly, both the whole system of the [expletive] on the radio, and the people who with great justification [expletive] hate the [expletive] on the radio and associate ‘country’ with it. Americana, Red Dirt, Not Insultingly Stupid, Singer- Songwriter, Van Zandty, Southern Gothic, etc.

I’ll check this guy out. It will be interesting to see how pop country responds to all this. My guess is 100 Zach Bryans that are way better looking and have never written a lyric in their life singing D- Zach Bryan-ish songs about “their” sad boomer fathers working in welding shops.

The Twisters soundtrack was ok. Some good Red Dirt Singer Songwriter Counrtycana guys. But my favorite song was the Leon Bridges tune.

I'm going to have this song played at my memorial service once I'm gone.

For those who have lost someone close to them, here's a song that might bring you comfort:

He sold out the Blazers arena a few years ago. Apparently he can't get 4,000 out to his show these days. [expletive] it, why not use it for bars, was his response. I like it.

This entire album is incredible. Give it a shot. Calling this "synth pop" is kinda accurate but a woefully incomplete description. Magdalena Bay is a duo of Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin. In high school they were in a prog rock band, and then it broke up when some members went to college. So Matt and Mica started over and wanted to make music that appealed to people closer to their own age (the prog rock group was attracting the old classic rock dudes). I wanted to explain the prog rock background because this album is definitely "prog" even if maybe only a couple songs could be called "rock". This album is topping all kinds of review charts. It's also a concept album with a lot going on. Maybe I will link some videos which give a better idea of the story it is trying to tell. This is my favorite album in a long time. There are no bad songs on it.
