Short Version:
My family is hosting a fund-raiser for the Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis (DSAGSL) this year in support of my daughter. If you feel inclined to donate the link is here: https://p2p.onecause.com/suds2024/team/ ... ine-league
Long Version:
Not sure how much i've mentioned this on the forum but my youngest daughter, Eva, has Down Syndrome and severe autism and has had a plethora of issues in her 7 years because of it. It was pretty difficult bringing home a month old baby with all of these medical issues. The doctors had some instructions we had to follow, but for the most part it was just like hey - here's this severely disabled baby good luck! We felt lost and no idea what we should be doing. The DSAGSL was a huge help in that regard with families we could talk to, resources we could reference, recommendations for medical, legal, and other services. Etc. We would have been so lost without them, so the charity means a lot to myself and my family.
This year they asked if Eva could be one of the spotlight volunteers, so during the last home game of the year for the Cardinals she is going to be able to go out on the field and be a part of the group to represent the Down Syndrome Association before the game while the lineup is announced and during first pitch. We always try to set up an online team and donate every year, but with them selecting her this year to go out on the field we thought we should try to have a more serious fund-raiser.
So no pressure to donate or anything, but this cause is something that is important to me and this year is particularly special for my family and since it's Cardinals related I wanted to make sure I took the opportunity to share with this community.
