Vacation 2023

Vacation had begun. My wife and I are going with her paternal grandparents on an Alaskan cruise. They are lovely people and I'm glad we've gotten to know them. So two hours in the highlight is her Grandmother bumping that terrible Fancy like Applebee's. It was hilarious.

Fancy like applebees? I'm guessing this is an abominable pop country song. Pop country loves to name drop [expletive] brands, largely in response to hip hop artists dropping luxury brands in their music. They rap about lambos, we sing about dodge rams type of thing.

Pop Country makes me sad.

I listen to some folk and classic country, I can do a bit kitschy or hokey, but it’s gotten perverse. At least a full on karaokeing (he did nothing with it! we’ve all been to college parties and open mics, Guy! it’s like the most performed/covered song ever! I bet he puts Wonderwall and Everlong on his next album!) of Fast Car can also be a hit.

To tie it all together, I’m going on a brief vacation out to Bend to see Willie. I’m excited like a little kid.
