Trying to think of the best shows on those services.

Amazon has Mrs Maisel, which I'm sure is annoying to many people but I like it. Reacher is good for what it is. Fleabag and The Expanse were both good.

Netflix is probably the worst. Squid Game, Stranger Things, Queen's Gambit. Some good ones, but very far between.

I've heard good things about Apple's shows, but haven't watched many aside from Ted Lasso and Severance. Silo seems interesting and that's a great cast, but it's a bit weird how clean everyone seems which is an issue I had with a lot of the Disney SW stuff outside of Andor. Kind of a nitpick, but it just feels like something filmed on a sterile set. Probably will give it a shot though. I loved Severance. Ted Lasso I just haven't wanted to get back into for whatever reason.

FWIW, Tales from the Loop is a really good sci-fi show on Amazon. That show deserves way more love.

its hard to take a service like Netflix seriously when they cancel shows like Mindhunters, which is easily one of their best show, if not the most compelling in the least. Stranger Things, prolly their most successful show, is nothing more than marvel fanboy [expletive].

IMO Apple TV seems to have the best quality, as you mentioned ted lasso and severance...shrinking is great, slow horses may be my favorite current show outside of HBO's succession...mini series defending Jacob was great, and black bird is prob the best mini series I've seen in a long time

I think that's selling Stranger Things short. Especially the first couple of seasons which I think are really well made and well acted, with a lot of attention to detail that's missing from other streaming shows. It's gotten more absurd as they've had to expand the plot, but I still think it's better than average for them.

Mindhunters supposedly had more to do with Fincher not having time for it, along with the budget being too high for the numbers they were doing.

But they do cancel things really early lately, and it's gotten to be kind of a joke.

Bojack Horseman is the best show Netflix has ever made, and the best show any streaming service has ever made.

This season of Ted Lasso isn’t very good. It’s spread thin and the messages feel ham-fisted, almost ‘very special episode’ like.

After years of SunnyP and Workaholics and Archer and South Park about terrible people, or even shows like Modern Family and The Office where people supposedly love each other but all the humor comes from hating each other, Lasso was really refreshing but maybe the sweetness burns a little hot? Or maybe it’s just a weak season. Really too bad it’s going out like this. Bob’s Burgers is still pretty good.

Stranger Things is fun. It’s the 90s PNW kid in me, but I do get turned off a little when things get so zeitgeisty. True with Ted Lasso too. So there’s some undue begrudgedness to my enjoyment.

Would you say it’s the standard for stupendous streaming sitcoms? Any way I have to take Joe back to the horse mansion. I love that show. Truly unique.

I would say scratch the sarcasm, super show stands out for scrumptious scenery, sassy syntax, and sad solipsism sending scary shivers.

Lasso is bad this season because the episodes are twice as long and it’s become a prestige drama with some laughs from a comedy with some emotional depth.
