Thursday will mark 96 years since 30-year-old manager and second baseman Rogers Hornsby became the first Cardinal to collect the 2,00th hit of his career. See how Hornsby made history, then hit a grand slam later in the game to power the Cardinals past the Pirates, 6-1:

Thursday will mark 61 years since 40-year-old Stan Musial homered twice and drove in 7 runs in a win over the Giants. See what Musial and both managers had to say about his performance after the game:

On this date in 1984, Willie McGee hit for the cycle, driving in six runs and scoring three times. Nonetheless, the game will forever be known as the "Ryne Sandberg" game after the Cubs second baseman hit two homers and drove in seven runs:

TLR was wrong. Ozzie was better than Royce that year.

On this date in 1999, Cardinals rookie Jose Jimenez threw a no-hitter to beat Randy Johnson and the Arizona Diamondbacks. Take a look back at a performance Willie McGee, Mike Shannon, and Mark McGwire called one of the best they had ever seen:

Hard to believe Jose was 5-14 with a 5.85 ERA that year. Least likely no hitter ever. Great closer for the Rockies though.Remembirds wrote: ↑June 25 22, 8:31 amOn this date in 1999, Cardinals rookie Jose Jimenez threw a no-hitter to beat Randy Johnson and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
