Former Cardinals Watch

He's going to look weird without the beard

Yankees signed INF Matt Carpenter to a one-year contract.

Carpenter gets a guaranteed major league deal from New York exactly one week after being released from the Triple-A affiliate of the Rangers. He'll join the Yanks' active roster ahead of Thursday night's series opener at Tampa Bay. The former three-time NL All-Star slashed just .169/.305/.275 with three home runs in 130 games (249 plate appearances) for the Cardinals last season.

Good for Matt! Good luck to him. But someone better tell him to shave those sideburns.

He will return to Busch this year. Big Standing O in order.

He should light up that playground of a park

If there is any ballpark made for Carp it's Yankee stadium with short RF porch

[JoeMcKim]

Carpenter is going go wear #24 with the Yankees, who does he think he is Rickey Henderson or Robinson Cano?
