On this date in 1985, Ozzie Smith announced that he had signed a new four-year extension, then homered in the Cardinals' home opener against the Expos. See why the new contract made Ozzie an outlier among players with multimillion-dollar contracts:

On this date in 1978, Bob Forsch threw the most controversial no-hitter in Cardinals history. See how a St. Louis Post-Dispatch reporter left the Phillies fuming:

If you’re going to steal 110 bases as a rookie, you don’t have any time to waste. See how Vince Coleman introduced himself to the major leagues on April 18, 1985:

After Tom Herr hit a game-winning grand slam against the Mets on April 18, 1987, Cardinals fans tossed so many promotional seat cushions onto the field that when players returned to the stadium the next day, the grounds crew was still picking them up. (WITH VIDEO)

Saturday will mark 32 years since the Cardinals received a jolt of energy when they traded for utility infielder Rex "The Wonder Dog" Hudler. See why Hudler thought pitcher Joe Magrane might fight him when he entered the St. Louis clubhouse:

The whole ‘85 team was entertaining. Ozzie, Willie, Vince, Pendleton, Herr, Van Skype, Clark, Landrum, Skates, Cedeno. 5 switch hitters in the starting lineup. Andujar, Tudor, Cox, Forsch, Worrell, Lahti, Horton, Dayley. Never a dull moment.heyzeus wrote: ↑April 19 22, 8:13 amVince Coleman was an insanely fun player to watch.Remembirds wrote: ↑April 17 22, 7:22 amIf you’re going to steal 110 bases as a rookie, you don’t have any time to waste. 34 years ago today, the Cardinals traded Tom Herr to the Twins for outfielder Tom Brunansky. See why the Cardinals chose to trade a fan favorite just six months after winning the National League championship:
