Agree with both comments.
The D has been a lot more solid with Leddy. Even while Krug was out. And go figure, he was out with that cut near his eye for the last period of the Wild game, and all of the Nashville game (which started out with the same chaotic feeling as the end of the Wild contest).
I hope his cut isn't serious and him being out was just precautionary yesterday.
I don't expect us to beat the Lanche in the 2nd round, but stranger things have happened. If we do, look out!!

I'm a bit selfish. If we can find a way past the Avs, I think the Blues are the next best team in the West, and I think they could easily hang with the top teams in the East.
I love the offensive depth of this team. I just hope the D can keep up their end come playoff time.

Yep.
If the D is all healthy, they could be just good enough.
Faulk/Krug
Parayko/Leddy
Bortz/Scandella/Rosen

The Blues regularly play down to the level of their opponents. They lost a 4-1 lead against Arizona in the third period, and could have easily lost the game. They are a frustrating team: lots of talent and incredible depth, but too often the team (or a line or two) phones a period in and they wind up in trouble.

I was going to make the argument that this is every team by using Colorado and Florida as an example. Both Colorado and Florida are winless against the Kraken this season. Both teams have losses against the Devils, Blue Jackets, and Senators.sighyoung wrote: ↑April 24 22, 6:36 amThe Blues regularly play down to the level of their opponents. Then I decided to calculate their records and point percentage against the bottom 3 teams from each division:
Blues: 18-8-2 (.678) (.681)
Avalanche: 24-5-3 (.796) (.734)
Panthers: 26-5-0 (.838) (.759)
The Blues actually have a worse points percentage against the bottom 12 teams in the league than the other 20. That's pretty crazy. If he Blues had the a similar point percentage as the average between Colorado and Florida (an increase of .071) in those 28 games, then they would have another 4 points.
That would be enough to clinch home ice against the Wild, but not much else otherwise.

Blues are 3-0 this year vs. the Wild. Avs are 1-2 this year vs. the Stars (their likely 1st round opponent).
Which of course means the Blues and Stars will probably both get swept.

The Wild have been a machine lately. Enough of the machine than to actually look better than what the Blues machine has been. But they were going into the Winter Classic too.
They can score, but I don't know if they can play d or not.
The schedule looks like we will be on the road in the first round, which doesn't really bother me at all.
