Starting that fight with Yadi was his instant demise. On top of his already demising demise.

Huh. It's amazing what the league thinks of these key contributors to the 2021 Cardinals.
I disagree with the notion that Carpenter, Martinez, and Ponce were key contributors in 2021.
Well, they were not "key" from a beneficial standpoint. They did combine for over 100 IP and over 275 PA's. That includes Marp's 1.1 IP and Carlos/Ponce's 30 PA's. So they did have a decent amount of playing time.

Curious what they’re seeing with Carlos atm. He seemed like a “steal” candidate but that’s probably biased fan thinking in retrospect.

Tyler Webb has signed with the Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League.

Webb made 22 relief appearances last year with the Cardinals, allowing 26 runs (24 earned) on 22 hits with a 14/19 K/BB ratio across 16 1/3 innings. The 31-year-old left-hander will look to rebuild his value in the Atlantic League this season.

I agree with your disagreement, as I didn't intend a literal reading.

Mets purchased the contract of LHP Chasen Shreve from Triple-A Syracuse.

Shreve has officially made the Mets' Opening Day bullpen. The 31-year-old southpaw recorded a strong 3.20 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 45/28 K/BB ratio across 56 1/3 innings (57 appearances) last year with the Pirates.

Of all the former Cardinal news this week the guy with the best headline is Chasen [expletive] Shreve.
