On February 1, 1970, the Veterans Committee named Jesse "Pop" Haines to the Hall of Fame after he helped the Cardinals win their first World Series championships and threw the first no-hitter in franchise history.

On Feb. 1, 1985, the Cardinals traded four players to the Giants to acquire Jack Clark. Batting in the middle of the order, Clark won the Silver Slugger Award and was named an all-star in the Cardinals' pennant-winning seasons in 1985 and 1987. See why Clark wanted out of San Francisco and why he was a perfect fit for the St. Louis lineup:

Happy Nolan Arenado Day, Cardinals fans! One year ago today, the Cardinals traded five players to the Rockies for Nolan Arenado. After learning the deal was complete, Arenado thought back to his first impression of St. Louis as a rookie in 2013:

Born on February 9, 1899, George "Specs" Toporcer was the first major-league infielder to wear glasses in a game. During his Cardinals career, he backed up two future Hall of Fame second basemen in Rogers Hornsby and Frankie Frisch. Read his full story below:

On this date in 1988, the Cardinals traded Ricky Horton and Lance Johnson for starting pitcher Jose DeLeon. Over four-plus seasons in St. Louis, DeLeon went 43-57 with a 3.59 ERA.

See why the Cardinals traded for Gregg Jefferies 29 years ago today. In 2 seasons in STL, Jefferies hit .335 and was an all-star both years:

26 years ago today, the Cardinals acquired Dennis Eckersley from the Athletics, reuniting him with his former A's manager, Tony La Russa. Eckersley saved 66 games in two seasons with St. Louis:

Do you mean the seasons with LaRussa? In nine seasons with the A’s, Eckersley compiled 320 of his 323 career saves and posted a 2.74 ERA.

11 years ago today, Stan Musial received the Presidential Medal of Freedom. “This is the greatest day I had in my life,” Musial said.

Thanks for catching that. That should say 320 of his 390 saves came with the A's:Famous Mortimer wrote: ↑February 13 22, 7:25 pmMistake?
