I can share an updated screen shot of an email with cases of vaxxed/unvaxxed at some point though not much (except volume) has changed from the last one. Lord knows there are skeptics if we don’t document these things.
Just wanted to pop in to say that I appreciate you sharing these updates. If they keep coming, would be interesting to plot them for comparison to state and national data, though to really dig into it you’d probably need more data on relative vaccination rate and relative demographics. From what I can tell, veterans are not an especially vaccinated population, so I would love to know what’s going on here.

Here in Springfield, MO... it's like the pandemic never existed for the most part. Maybe 3% of the people I've seen wear masks (I still wear mine). Even the fast food restaurants are all completely open for dine-in which was shocking to me because none are open for dine-in except for maybe Steak N Shake in the St. Louis area so I assumed it was a policy set by corporate that would apply all over the country. Nope.

And then of all places, the truck driving school that I'm at requires us to wear masks at all times indoors and talks about safety for the public and takes it seriously, even encouraging us to wear masks outside of the school and to be careful. I would have bet on it being the other way around where a bunch of former truckers would be against a mask policy while the chain fast food restaurants would at least be making their employees wear masks. Not the case at all. Times are weird.

You and me both!

I've thought about it quite a bit and have some guesses (not even educated ones) that are 1. older population --> higher vax rates 2. increased rates of diabetes, alcoholism, drug use, obesity, etc (no idea if this is even true, but I'd guess it would be) --> weakened immune systems/more susceptible in general and 3. those that got it possibly having earlier access to the vaccines --> boosters needed already (especially among the least healthy, see points 1 and 2).

While those may have some merit, again - they're uneducated non-informed guesses, I can't fathom how they would make such a large impact. But, as the CDC kind of untangles and more data is becoming available, it's obvious the data I'm showing is an absolute outlier.

I would imagine that trucking companies emphasize safety above all else. Not to mention prioritizes keeping their drivers on the road.

They definitely do, but at the same time these guys are just training us. Then again, every single one of us is being sponsored by a much larger company so I am sure you're right. The companies paying our tuition are probably the driving force behind the mask requirements. They almost certainly don't want to invest six grand for somebody to get trained and then can't get them on the road for awhile because they got the 'rona while being trained. Especially a company like PAM who seems to be the sponsor for most of the students at the school. There are 11 of us left as of right now and 8 are being sponsored by them. Only two of us are going to work for other companies as of today and the third of the non-PAM students was initially here sponsored by PAM but that's changed. Hopefully tomorrow the third guy has a new sponsor. My roommate was only able to get a one year medical card and that isn't OK with PAM so they are terminating his training and telling him to head home. The school put him in touch with another company this morning to see if they would bring him on so he's waiting on a decision tomorrow. If they accept him then he can continue the classes. If they don't, or just don't make a decision in time... then he can't come back next week which would be a shame.

I don't suppose the hospital would care to comment? I'm sure the VA system if not this specific hospital has serious analysis internally.

Is Twitter’s Angry_Staffer a legitimate source for this information? Seems unlikely.

I've been following him for a long time. He was a rogue Whitehouse staffer in the first half of Rump's administration. He was very in tune with everything. Since he's been out he doesn't have all the inside info but he's been spot on with pretty much everything he says. He is up front that he's not a virologist, but he clearly has a good handle on the ramifications of the pandemic.

I've been hesitant to have Mrs. AW ask...seems like with all the politicization about the topic, asking a high ranking person that she doesn't know about numbers that don't align with the DOH/CDC could be taken the wrong way.

But, now that there are two of us wanting to know, I'll see if she can get any info this weekend.
