My empathy is at an all time low. That's weighed heavily on me for months. It's like I try, and try, and try to talk myself into trying to find some kind of compassion for the anti-maskers and non-vaxxers and every [expletive] day I feel less for them. I've lost 5 friends this last month all under 55, 3 under 40, with one thing in common. I just don't [expletive] get it.

Here’s a really good and seemingly non-biased view on COVID and where we’re at right now.

A woman in my town died of COVID the other day. She just gave birth 2 weeks earlier. She was not vaccinated. The article doesn't say her age but she was either 32 or 33.

Latest data from Mrs. AW's hospital. Again, don't know what % of the eligible patients are vaxxed, so take it with a grain of salt. And, not sure how many, if any, of the overflow from the public is included in this email. I don't think any based on the numbers, but trying to get more information.

I will say, anecdotally, it seems like deaths (and Iowa is about a month or so behind the worst of the southern states but well on its way to another huge peak) wake people up to get vaccinated. There was an article in the Wall Street Journal about an architect that died and the impact it has had on his hometown where he was well known. I had worked on projects with this guy and he was a great guy. Really sad.

Point being, those that thought they would be alright without the vaccine are getting sick as [expletive], some are dying, and slowly but surely people are realizing the risks with the vaccine < risks without the vaccine.
