oh [expletive] yea

no doubt it will be insufferableWOODSTOCK 99: PEACE, LOVE, AND RAGE unfolds over three blazing hot days and nights of nonstop performances and heaving mosh pits in July 1999, and examines how the festival eventually collapsed under the weight of its own misguided ambition. The musical lineup reflected acts that dominated MTV and radio airwaves at the time and leaned heavily towards artists catering to a young, male demographic. Intense heat, lack of adequate sanitation and access to free drinking water agitated a crowd already at a breaking point. Shortcuts and cost-cutting measures had diminished security, allowing the anger and frustration of the mob to explode into unchecked rioting and destruction. As much as Woodstock 69 became known as a celebration of peace and inclusion, Woodstock 99 became a flashpoint for burgeoning white toxic masculinity.

"I think you should leave with Tim Robinson" has a new season up. I might have to re-sub to netflix.

when the trailer mentioned white male masculinity from the concert to today i definitely turned my head a bit. i think white rage is real and perhaps theres a tangential connection but...eh, seems like a bit of a stretch for direct correlation to today. i guess just have to see how they frame it. otherwise, just generally i would have interest in a docu on that concert. it was obviously a [expletive] show.go birds wrote: ↑July 8 21, 8:32 amoh [expletive] yea

I was disgusted. I actually recall that moment more often than I'd like, usually around discussions of sexual harassment or assault. I think we should continue to explore that.
You can grab them by the [expletive] was a downright presidential attitude very recently. And the guy we have in office now may not have the audio clip, but at least has tons of doubt surrounding him on the issue.
Maybe it doesn't have to be about race, but we should probably stand and be accountable as white guys for Korn, Limp Bizkit, Insane Clown Posse and Kid Rock.

definitely worth exploring since sexual assault was invented by white 22 year old males at woodstock '99.BottenFieldofDreams wrote: ↑July 8 21, 9:43 amI remember seeing this graphic clip on MTV of '99.go birds wrote: ↑July 8 21, 8:32 amoh [expletive] yea

and no i don't condone that sort of behavior, but it's just so tiresome.
gimme a Fyre Fest-esque documentary on how corporate america ruined what might have been a decent music festival. I say decent because yea, looking back on it, the lineup was definitely bad, but that's what was popular at the time, at least according to Billboard and MTV. good concept, bad execution.
poor planning, heatwave, lack of resources, high ticket prices and if I'm not mistaken, pay-per-view only viewing (that we circumvented via descrambler) played absolutely no part I'm sure.

I'm tired of hearing about sexual assault too. But we have so much to learn and change. Gotta keep listening.

I don't know how often you just turn off your brain and SNL on YouTube for a full hour. I do it more than any person that wants to keep his job ought to.
This is my favorite thing in the world right now. I love how deep inside it Will Forte is. I also love that the studio audience isn't feeling it hardly at all. Also kind of a pivot year in casting.

Forte is probably my favorite cast member ever. The way he committed to every single skit is amazing.
