The difference is subtle, but it looks like Wacha has raised his release point. When I asked pitching coach Jeremy Maschino about this, he suggested that it could be related to his change in posture. That made sense. There’s no concrete relationship between the two actions, but I imagine it’s more difficult to generate the required momentum from his original crouch. Whatever makes the process of throwing higher in the zone replicable can only benefit Wacha.
As a result, all four pitches in Wacha’s repertoire – four-seam fastball, cutter, changeup, and curveball – have gained vertical movement this season. The biggest beneficiary is his fastball, which, according to Pitch Info, has added 1.2 inches of vertical break. Combine this increase with the high active spin rate it possesses (98% in 2020), and in theory, Wacha should see an uptick in whiffs by locating his fastballs up in the zone.

Shouldn't a ball off of that plexiglass be a homer? If not, the yellow line should frame it.

If you hit the yellow line it should be a homer. Just like you hit the "yellow line" of the foul poll. Otherwise why bother painting it yellow?

The foul poles are behind the fence and beyond fair territory. Thus, if the ball touches it above the fence line, it's a home run.

I just read an article on Wainwright that mentioned some record Chuck Finley had with the Cardinals. I have absolutely no recollection of him ever playing for the Cardinals. But he did.

Tawny Finley, in a declaration to the Orange County Superior Court, claimed Finley used steroids amongst other drugs. She also claimed he bragged about being able to circumvent MLB's testing policy.[3] When told of his wife's accusations, which also included heavy marijuana use and alcohol abuse, Finley replied: "I can't believe she left out the cross-dressing."[4]
