Re: What are you drinking?
SECRETS
I have started drinking something I would have mocked and derided a year ago, let alone back in our glory drinking days in the first years of GRB.
Non-alcoholic beer. Specifically, Bud Zero. My body just can't handle the kind of drinking it used to. Even 3-4 real beers in a night will have me feeling pretty drained and listless the next day. I try not to drink Monday - Thursday but that craving still hits me hard in the afternoon. As the end of the workday approaches I get that urge to crack a beer, and if I open one I'm gonna drink 3 - 4 of them.
Bud-Zero does a pretty good job of scratching that itch without the guilt and as many calories. It helps that Bud is a pretty sudsy, malty beer to begin with so the taste is pretty much the same. I'd imagine that a non-alcoholic version of a craft IPA for example would taste more like a fake beer.

I know this is a joke, but in my case there's some truth here.CardsofSTL wrote: ↑April 15 21, 6:04 pmI just read through these old posts and some of y'all used to be drunks.
Now a days I only really drink for special occasions. I'm on the alcoholism spectrum for sure. Things got pretty intense for me. Hence my "Almost 15 years later I completely regret this move" post. Moving from a relaxing weekday evening tallboy to bourbon was the beginning of my downfall. It's humbling to read my OP. If I only knew.
Respect.

We all wish we could whisper some sage advice to our younger selves. I can tell you right now my dumbass younger self wouldn't have listened to me.
I don't shy away from booze... Though I've never really liked beer very much. I keep it to the weekends these days though. And I've gone months without it and have never missed it. Everyone has to learn and know their limits.
