Re: Coronavirus
I saw an article somewhere yesterday that said the mRNA vaccines (Moderna and Pfizer, specifically) are showing very positive results so far against the UK and S. Africa variants of the virus. Between this and the article I posted a week or so ago about the antiviral treatment development, things are feeling pretty hopeful.

Re: Coronavirus
I'd imagine by late summer, things will be back to as 'normal' as we will get for quite some time.
Summer probably mitigates spread to some extent. With the recent waves of infection over the winter, people that don't care will likely have been exposed. Those that do care will have been vaccinated. There will still be some percent of the population naive (as in not inoculated either through vaccination or natural infection) but it will become increasingly diminished.
Children will start to be vaccinated sometime in the later half of 2021 as well, I'd think, which even if it doesn't happen prior to school re-starting won't have much of an affect on the teachers who mostly are now able to get vaccines o rwill be able to shortly.
So, schools re-open, sporting events probably start to host spectators at some capacity above 50% if not full stadiums, travel bans are lifted, airlines probably see an influx of passengers, etc etc etc. I hope at least.

Re: Coronavirus
Did I miss something? I hadn't heard anything about vaccines for children, or if I did, I forgot I read it, which is not like me.
What is the latest on children's vaccines? I thought they were a long way off since they hadn't even started tested them yet.

Got our first shots on Tuesday. No side effects for either of us but Mrs. Rad’s rheumatologist recommended she skip her immunosuppressant drugs for a couple of weeks and she’s feeling achy from that. We got Pfizer and next round is March 5.

They just started phase 2 for 12-16 year olds. The hope is phase 3 will be completed by the end of this year. After that, they'll begin phase 2 for Kindergarten to 12 year olds with the hope to be completed mid to late 2022.

Re: Coronavirus
This thing is no joke. As you know I had it nearly a month ago. I got back to work after two week but was fighting exhaustion. After about a week at work I all the sudden started getting dizzy spells and feeling poor again. By day three I was nearly as sick as I was a few days into covid. Made it to the doctor last Wednesday. Got me on steroids and a pill for the dizziness. He said he's seen a lot of this with covid and it can come and go for months. Also my blood pressure has sudden gone up, which is also said is a thing. Memory issues are very real as well.
I guess what I'm saying is, avoid it at all costs. It messes you up good.
