Big City returns to the Braves. This will be his 2nd stint with the Braves after having 2 stints with the Cardinals and Nats.
He's such a 2-timer.

Jon Jay, who was signed to a minor league deal in February, has won a spot on the Diamondbacks roster.

It's an odd sort of encore for Jay, considering that he was pretty awful in hitting .235/.304/.325 in 320 PA for Arizona in 2018. He was just as bad for the White Sox last year, batting .267/.311/.315 in 182 PA before going down with a hip injury. He's well-liked around the league and he could still contribute the occasional single, but with the way his defense has declined, he doesn't seem worthy of a roster spot at this point.

Jon Jay at this point is probably someone that should over to Japan or South Korea to play,

That's 13% of the season. In a regular season, it's the equivalent of 21+ games! Dang!

Had to be suspended. But that seems excessive. I wonder if the Astros are going to get this righteously pissed off every time. The more they can lecture people, the better, with all that high ground they have. Definitely.
"Joe Kelly threw a ball behind Bregman's head on 3-0 on purpose," McCullers said. "Not only did he take it upon himself to send a message, but he wasn't even part of the team during that [2017] season. We knew coming into the game that he likes to go off script. It is what it is. It was done unprofessionally. What he did after he punched out Correa was unprofessional. Running into the dugout was unprofessional. So it is what it is. We're here to play baseball. We just wanna win. That's it."
They already lost a Second round pick in 2031, Joe. And Bregman said he's sorry that some choices were made. And Jim Crane said it didn't help them win or anything. Stand down.

i also wonder if they'll still be hated, or dare i say "targeted", next year. since this is such a short season and not playing all of the AL, some teams may still want their chance to give their thoughts.

I understand being upset when someone throws at your guy's head. But when you [expletive] on someone's lawn, you don't have a lot of leverage for judging their reaction.

You can kind of see the beauty of the Baker hiring here as well. Regardless of what you think of his ability to manage, he's a baseball lifer and has to be respected on some level. If it was still Hinch or the like, Roberts may very well have more and worse to say about everything last night.
