Pretty cool stuff. Amazing what they can do on soundstages to perpetuate the round Earth myth.

Really cool to see the 1st stage coming down but bummer they lost signal for the landing--also perfect for conspiracists. Hopefully some other videos of it landing come along.

Was not expecting the broadcast to pivot into a Trump butt-licking session. Call me a snowflake, but it would have been nice to avoid politics here. Now all the cool stuff is going to be buried behind praising or criticizing Trump and the NASA guy licking his butt.

Yeah, ruined an otherwise enjoyable event.

I had the same thought when watching the playback about an hour after it all occurred. One second it's not there; the next second it's perfectly landed! Amazing!!

I was also bummed by the press conference, because I was wanting to see their 1st test flight occur live. What horrible timing!

I was watching with my kid and was excited to get around Coronavirus, and police violence, and Portland looters, and politics and just have really cool science. That's why I chose to watch on the NASA proper feed rather than a news channel. So it was disappointing to break away from incredible images of space and technology to hear about how wonderful our President, a true champion of science (the day after he withdrew from WHO, the guy who withdrew from the Paris climate accord, so on and so forth) is.

Here's an interesting and insightful article about an astronaut that didn't realize (until later) that he narrowly escaped death... twice.
Why astronauts get nervous on the launchpad

Space launches don’t always run smoothly, as the delays to the inaugural Crew Dragon launch showed. What is it like sitting in a capsule attached to a rocket when things don't go to plan?

Every time I think about sending a Bob and Doug to space, I get a craving for an Elsinore.
