Bickley was going on for 20 minutes about how Jeter was better, since he played in New York and was the captain of the Yankees and how important that was. His take was that Jeter should have been unanimous and that Pujols won't be even close to being unanimous when he is up for the hall.

60/40 as of right now in Jeter's favor.

100/73 in Pujols' favor regarding career WAR. A few more years and AP may slide closer to Jeets though.

Regardless, in honor of 33, Pujols is better, demonstrably.

Also, in jeets defense, pretty sound logic here:

What about homers and RBI and other stats? They count too and while I haven't looked them up, I'm pretty sure you can find ones where Pujols has a large advantage.

Pujols has almost 400 more home runs...

But guys....we're talking an additional 0.01 points of BA. I mean, get a brain. Right. I'm sorry for not following the rules, but we can't have these lunatics ignoring facts. Amiright, or amiright.

3x the stolen bases of Mr. Plantar Fasciitis? 17x more than Ted Simmons!

I would think the argument should sound more like “and Pujols only has 3x less stolen bases than Jeter”. If I were touting Jeter having 3x more stolen bases than a slow first baseman is not the stat to mention. Or maybe it could be because it is one of the only stats where he is better.....
